Having completed the purchase on 1 December, William and I (Marianne) are delighted to have reopened The Inn at Freshford in time for Christmas.
Hospitality, heritage, community and sustainability are at the heart of what we already do on the Estate, and we are bringing all those qualities now to this exceptional pub that William has known and loved for decades.
At The Inn you will find:
- a warm welcome;
- great local drinks (including our very own );
- exceptional food (much sourced from the adjacent Iford Manor Estate, which runs from Farleigh Hungerford to Freshford);
- and a friendly community
Well behaved dogs on short leads are very welcome, both in the bar and dining areas. 🐕
As at Iford, you will often see William at the front of house overseeing the building and chatting to everyone. Please do come and say hello when you’re next in.
Executive Chef heads up the kitchen with his team from We make our food from scratch and the sustainable sourcing of ingredients is highly important to us.
Matt may be a familiar face as he was previously Exec. Chef at Freshford in 2018 under previous management.
Alaina has recently joined us to run front of house and we are delighted to have her on the team.
There is a lot of work still to do and we will be doing it in phases. Soon, the upstairs will open as an additional dining area overlooking the valley, as well as a new private dining room that can be booked for up to 10 people.
Sunday roasts will be served from January 2026, meanwhile in December we will be serving our standard à la carte menu.
Those who know Iford will know how important gardens are to us, and that includes the wonderful garden at Freshford with its stunning views. We will be working on the garden over the coming months and aim to reopen it in Spring, under the aegis of our wonderful Head Gardener from our renowned Grade 1 gardens at Iford.
We hope to welcome you back to The Inn at Freshford very soon. 🍻
