I am delighted to share the Alma W**e Club’s selections for September! They are all refreshing, food-friendly, and beautiful w**es from Mexico, Llano Colorado in the Valle de Guadalupe, Baja California and Cava Garambullo in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato. Our pick-up party for our members is Wednesday, September 9th, from 5 pm to 8 pm. Not a member? Taste the w**es for $20 or we will waive your fee if you join the club! 🇲🇽🍷✨

We invite you to taste our new flight of w**es from Casa Miramar by Bodegas de Santo Tomás in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico. We have their ‘Blanc de Noirs,’ a white w**e made from Grenache, their Rosé of Merlot, Tempranillo, Syrah, and Barbera, and their Red - Merlot and Barbera. They are light, refreshing, and delicious!

We’re excited to feature this flight in the month of September, celebrating Mexican Independence.

Join us as we welcome Simone Popov of Between 2 Worlds Selections for an exploration of two of Spain’s most fascinating and often misunderstood w**e regions: Catalunya and Jerez.

We’ll examine the other side of Catalunya’s sparkling w**e tradition, beyond the familiar “Cava”, as Jaume, Oriol, and Laia of Dumenge eschew tradition to make fresh, bright Pet Nats made from indigenous varieties grown in Catalunya’s most distinctive terroirs. 

We also look to Jerez, where Raul Moreno is exploring the infinite possibilities of Albariza soil and crafting still, unfortified w**es that look both to the ancient region’s past and future.   

As the founder of Between 2 Worlds Selections, a project crafted over years of research and exploration, Simone will guide you through each producer’s story, passion, and approach to crafting these truly singular w**es.

Alma is a beautiful location for private dinners, mixers, bridal showers, birthday parties, receptions, anniversaries, and more.

We are also a great spot for corporate or organizational meetings, classes, and workshops.

We enjoy hosting book clubs, social clubs, and other events that bring our community together. We can often do this at low or no cost to the organizers.

Our space is available for private events during the day before we open and while we are open. We can also close to the public if your event is during our normal operating hours.

We can accomodate up to 30 people seated or 49 standing.

A Chilean viticulturist and a Cuban artist, Paula Chodin and Arnaldo Batista, are united by their love for the land and w**e. Since 2020, they have crafted w**es from the Biobío and Itata valleys using low-intervention practices: native yeasts, no filtration,no additives — pure expressions of terroir. They source organic, dry-farmed grapes from ancient, low-yield vineyards, supporting farmers transitioning to organic agriculture and helping revive long-forgotten vines.

We are so excited to be offering w**e classes at Alma! Fall Semester 2026 starts September 12, 2026. We will offer a class every other Saturday through December 19, 2026. There will be five sessions that are an introduction to w**e (“W**e Foundations”) followed by three sessions on specific topics (“Focus”). You can sign up for individual classes, the entire W**e Foundations series, or all 8 classes.

We are fortunate to have our friend Simone Popov teaching these classes. He has his Diploma from the W**e & Spirit Education Trust, he’s a Society of W**e Educators Certified Specialist of W**e, a French W**e Scholar, a Spanish W**e Scholar, an Italian W**e Scholar, and has his MBA in W**e Business Strategies from Sonoma State University.

Classes are $40 per session. Students receive 10% off all purchases on the day of their class.

Come by for Sake Sessions Volume 2 at Alma W**e Bar on Thursday, August 27 from 5 pm to 8 pm. Tayler (Tayler Jay) will be there pouring a flight of sake for you to taste and discover what sakes might be your favorite, Chef Eddie (La Cocina de Carmen) will be shucking oysters, and the marvelous Gabimami (gabimami_) will be providing the soundtrack.

No tickets required, pop in anytime between 5 and 8! This is not a seated event, just come in and stay as long as you would like :)

Our beloved Chef Eddie Torres of La Cocina de Carmen will be back at Alma for one night only! There will oysters! There will be his world famous fermented serrano mignonette! There will be specials on w**es by the glass and bottle! There will be Hector Lavoe, Willie Colón, and Bad Bunny!

Join us from 5 pm to 8 pm (or until the oysters are sold out). Alma will be open until 10 pm.
