LET'S COME TOGETHER AND HONOR JUNETEENTH A LITTLE DIFFERENT THIS YEAR (AND BEYOND).

In moving to Sac and opening this bar I've had many observations and discoveries. Mainly, that we as a society still have a disconnect with one another, that MANY of you are working hard to repair/support/advocate for. But the ultimate question comes back to 'how and when'?

I found this amazing overview on instagram, thanks to and I wanted to share. It really helped me reframe my thoughts around Juneteenth and I hope is does the same for someone else.

Joneck's is a safe space to have these conversations - they need to happen if things are going to get better. Feel free to swing by today between 12-10pm if you want to talk, share, connect.

Honoring Juneteenth 2026 with reflection, gratitude and knowing there's more work to be done. OPENING FRIDAY, JUNE 19TH AT 12PM.

This year is one of reflection and becoming more comfortable using my voice as a Black woman.

Opening a business in Sacramento as a Black woman is not for the faint of heart - if it weren't for my parents, I wouldn't have made it.

My Mother was born in the 1930s, My Father in the 1940s. My Dad came from a powerful group of civil rights activists in New York. They both joined the US Army in the 1950s. What they saw and lived through is beyond what many should ever have to. Yet they didn't give up, they found each other in the Army and focused on education (my Mom became a Nurse, my Dad collected four degrees and started several businesses), and raised a family.

Their strength, focus and sharing of our history helped shape me into someone who doesn't give up, stands up for what's right, speaks her mind and never shrinka to accommodate bigoted comfort.

They taught me instead to stand tall, pull others forward, fight for fairness and equity in every space I enter.

Joneck's is special to me as I've tried to create a comfortable space where those wanting to discover and connect with others from different and similar walks of life can do so, safely and with joy.

Thank you to my parents and ancestors for all that they've endured so that I/we can thrive and keep fighting for what's right.

Swing by tonight for one or both of the viewings and debrief with your fellow Bravoholics. It's been a wild year and we need to process + we need to figure out what the next shows on Bravo we need to dig into to fill this void from Summer House ending.

The finals was emotional, knowing the history and journey of the Knicks to get to this place. When they won, we all screamed and cried.

Well deserved and a testimony to never give up on your dreams, never stop pushing forward and not letting 'time' break you.

Thanks everyone who came out, shared our space and connected with each other during an emotional game.

Special thanks to Leslie Baldner thank you for choosing Joneck's to watch the game and share such a powerful and emotional accomplishment for your daughter, who was part of the production team on tear-jerker Nike commercial that came on after the Win! Goosebumps and tears were shed again! Can't wait to see you again.
