Ohhh boy. What a game yesterday! The Hawks win, National Pizza Day, and an excuse to eat well—destiny, really.

Swing by the pizza shop today in Tacoma or Vashon for a special collab pie we cooked up with our friend Daz from ETC.

Today’s Fancy Meat is doing some good while it does its thing. A portion of sales from every Fancy Meat pizza goes to support the Tacoma Multicultural Child & Family Hope Center after-school program.

Let’s give some love to . She has been a rock these past 4 years. She’s moving on from her GM role with us to pursue a career in her newly minted degree. Here is a list, as she was Queen of Lists, of things we will miss from having her around:
- Her laugh; loud, proud, and loving
- Her attention to detail
- Fancy Friday’s
- Sassy Tuesday’s
- Free therapy
- And of course, her humility

Kendra has been with us at the pizza shop since before we opened. She committed to us early on and said she would stick with us until she got her degree. And she did. We wish her the absolute best and brightest future. We know that she’ll remain strange, but not a stranger. Love you!!

Today is the Feast Day of the Apostles Simon and Jude. Simon is said to have been from Cana, the site of Jesus’s first miracle, where he turned water into wine. And Jude is the Patron Saint of those in desperate situations. I feel strongly today for those in desperate need; for those in America suffering from poverty, in Jamaica, In the Ukraine, and in Palestine, Ethiopia, the list goes on… I hope that Colvos can be a place of refuge, and nourishment for you, and am grateful for all the ways that we are supported by employees, customers, and partners that make this whole thing possible. -Matt

Today is Alastair’s last scheduled shift behind the bar. He’ll be around a bit more before he moves on to greener pastures, but come by and wish him a hearty farewell.

We are so grateful for the time we had to work with him. He’s kind, even keeled, a killer smoker of meat, a top shelf salsa maker, a great listener, a meme-hunter, with shorts that could make just about anyone blush.

We’ll miss you Alastair!
