14 years ago, Hurricane Sandy changed The Red Hook W**ery forever.

Just two days after completing harvest in 2012, the storm brought over five feet of floodwater into our w**ery, destroying w**e, equipment, and years of hard work.

In this video, our owner Mark looks back on the devastation, the overwhelming task of rebuilding, and the incredible community that helped us get back on our feet.

14 years later, we’re still grateful to everyone who helped us through that chapter, and proud to be part of the Red Hook community.

Did you know you can still see the waterline from Hurricane Sandy at The Red Hook W**ery?

14 years after the 2012 storm, our owner Mark takes us through the w**ery to show where the floodwaters reached. While most of the damage was decoratively covered with black paneling, some of it is still visible.

We’ll be sharing more from the archives and the story of what happened next over the coming days.

Here’s your mid-October harvest update with our w**emaker, Christopher Nicolson! 🍇

All of our whites have been picked and are in maceration, while most of our reds are nearing harvest.

In this video, Christopher shares an update on Chardonnay grapes from Mattebella Vineyards, which have been macerating for about a month now. (You might remember their punch-down process from a video we shared a few weeks ago!)

Meet Ryan Burk, the c***r maker behind our c***r program in Red Hook.

Ryan has spent the last 15+ years making c***r, much of that right here in New York State. Starting this fall, he’s bringing that experience to Red Hook.

While we already have one of the largest hard c***r selections in New York City, there’s even more in store for our c***r program—stay tuned.

The 2026 vintage is officially underway at The Red Hook W**ery. Right now, grapes grown across New York are making their way through the w**emaking process—and it’s all happening here on the Brooklyn waterfront.

And just outside the w**ery: New York Harbor, the Statue of Liberty, and the downtown Manhattan skyline. Not a bad view for making w**e!

With punch downs happening this week, the 2026 vintage is officially underway at The Red Hook W**ery. 🍷

Here, Christopher works with Pinot Noir from the Finger Lakes, harvested exactly one week ago, and Chardonnay from the North Fork.

It’s an early look at what will eventually make its way into your glass.
