Happy Cask Ale Week, one and all 🍻

To celebrate, every one of our quizzes next week has a one-off prize up for grabs: win the height of your tallest team member in cask ale. Grab your tallest mate, and get involved.

Our quizzes are...
Monday 21st, The Station House, from 8pm
Wednesday 23rd, Puss in Boots, from 8.30pm
Thursday 24th, Fletchers Arms, Jolly Sailor and Spread Eagle, from 8.30pm

Free entry as always, with £75 of Almond vouchers to give away too.

As an added bonus there's even more happening next weekend, too. Robinsons' Unicorn turns 130 this year, so on Saturday 26th we're pulling pints of it for just £1.30 at the Puss in Boots and Fletchers Arms. That's 72 at each pub while stocks last - more on that in the lead up to the day.

After visiting The Station House last month to hear first-hand how hard it is to run a community pub, Tom Morrison, MP for Cheadle, took the concerns we shared to Parliament during a debate on business rates and hospitality. You can watch his contribution below.

Like many operators, we welcome the 20% cut to business rates, but there is still work to do to give pubs like ours a system that works, which is why we’re supporting . Our thanks to Tom for raising this, and working to support our industry.

It is a year to the day since we announced we were going to open The Station House 🎉

It is I Love Lamb Week, and what better time to talk about one of our founder Doug Almond's most famous inventions - the Lamb Henry: a single serving of lamb shoulder, slow-cooked on the bone for hours until it pulls apart at the touch of a fork.

It is a story that includes a holiday in Spain, a chat with a master butcher in Marple, a steak knife through a chalkboard, and all thirty cuts of Lamb Henry selling on the first night they were on the menu. Is it that time of year again already?

Summer might still be in full swing (or it should be, at least), but we're happy to say bookings for Our Festive Fayre are now open. Serving from 23 November to 23 December, served across all five pubs. Festive Carveries and roasts, Apple C***r & Ginger Braised Lamb Shank, and a plenty more to choose from. Two courses are available for parties of all sizes from £23.50.

Book before 31 October and you're in the draw to win a £250 Regency hamper too, with one up for grabs at every pub.

The new-look Orangery! 🍊

Over the past few days we've been having a refresh of the main room of the Jolly, and we're pleased to say that it is now back open and ready. Statement tiered chandeliers are the focal point of the room, along with new lighting, wood panelling and parquet flooring. There's also new botanical-themed wallpapering, and artwork that focusses on flora, fauna, and quintessentially British imagery.

We'd love for you to come take a look at the Orangery yourself - book a table, or simply walk in, it'd be great to show you around.
