The Catherine Wheel is probably one of the oldest pubs in Norwich, situated just meters from St Augustines Gate in the city walls! We know that the pub has been in constant use since at least 1740 when records began the licencee was a Mr Lockett. It is thought that when traders and farmers bought their cattle to market in in the city they would have stopped here for an ale and to water their animals from the well!

TONIGHT it’s DRAGAOKE with the fantastic LUCY LOOSE.
Yes she’s still alive and in full make up in the heat!
We can’t thank this gurl enough for all the amazing organising she did, to bring you all the most fabulous pride day and night. What a diamond.

TOMORROW.. it’s the little firecracker herself in a full cabaret show. It’s the non stop MISS FROU FROU.

We are recovering from the most wonderful weekend, but hey no time to stop!

Wow what a day yesterday!
We had the most amazing pride day and night.

Firstly though, a HUGE thank you for all my birthday messages, cards and presents. I lose my birthday to the biggest LGBTQIA+ event of the year so I save everything for Sunday.
And that’s today so I’m going to look forward to opening them later. 😘(and apparently, a birthday party!) .

So, anyone who knows me gets in a panic when I say ‘I’ve had an idea..’
But this year I’ve been indulged, helped and inspired to create that idea.
Yesterday was everything I had in my head.

So this is my deepest THANK YOU 😘 to all those people who made yesterday possible. ( yeah I know, long post!) 🤣.

BUT it is important.
Without these people, yesterday’s amazing pride day wouldn’t have happened.

So thanks to my long suffering daily supporters Daniel Roly Perkins and Mitch for their rolled eyes, swear words and oh not again!!! 😘

Huge thanks to LUCY LOOSE for getting the vision and building it into amazing. ( The pink pony pub).
For her designing, decorating, enthusiasm, organising, and charging at everything at top speed to make it happen. And of course hubby JONATHAN for his help and all the extras. ❤️

To GEORGINA for introducing me to LAUREN and her fabulous dance school STEPERCISE.
Lauren took the idea, embraced it, and came back with the most amazing 6 minute mix of poignant and up beat songs. ( including the pink pony club!). Finishing with born this way and what have you done today to make you feel proud.
Lauren then choreographed the whole thing which looked amazing on the streets of Norwich. Especially on the last notes of born this way when the dancers all dropped down and raised their arms in homage to our queens. Powerful stuff.
So huge thanks to LAUREN, her hubby for pulling a speaker, and all the MARVELLOUS DANCERS who gave up their time for rehearsals, and to dance in the pride parade. Fantastic work.❤️

Thanks to KRISTIAN whose company sponsored all the wonderful t shirts. ❤️

To the 3 fabulous queens ( LUCY LOOSE, LUCY HOLE and MISS FROU FROU) that danced their way around the city on a very hot day in full make up, wigs, costumes and god knows how many pairs of tights.. ( hope they’re in the wash girls!) 🙏

As a tiny pub, we still smashed the entertainment! What an incredible line up we had.
Non stop entertainment for hours.

Huge thanks to my amazing BAR STAFF who worked their socks off and DJ CARL SHIPMAN for hibernating in our tiny Dj booth for hours!
