15 years… One brilliant weekend to celebrate it! 🎉

From Friday 25th to Sunday 27th September, we’re marking 15 years of Tim and Mary at the helm with a full weekend of chaos, countryside charm, and (of course) a very good excuse to visit.

What’s happening at the Chum…

🐑 Guess the weight of one of Helen’s lambs across the weekend for a chance to win a £50 gift card

🐐 Say hello to our miniature goats - pop in and say hello! They’ll be in their pen all weekend.

🎶 Live music Saturday night, followed by a jazzy Sunday afternoon with Plus One

🚗 Our Car Treasure Hunt kicks off Saturday from 2pm, £10 entry per car (two team members only) in aid of North West Air Ambulance Charity

🐾 Dog Show on Sunday from 2.30pm, categories include Prettiest Female Dog, Most Handsome Hound, Proud Pedigree, Marvellous Mixed Breed and the Best Sausage Catcher!

🍽️ Plus a Specials Menu bringing back yesteryear’s most-loved seasonal dishes

On Saturday, the Tour de Cat riders rolled through the Cholmondeley Arms! 🚴‍♀️🐾

Part of the Cheshire Cat Pubs Cycle Challenge, a 7 pub bike ride in support of the North West Air Ambulance Charity, the riders made their way from The Church Inn Mobberley to the finish line at the The Bulls Head Mobberley, with a stop at ours along the route.

We’re delighted to share that they raised an incredible £1,045 for charity on the day! 👏

A big thank you to our sponsor Boutinot Wines and to everyone who took part or cheered the riders on. A fantastic effort for a fantastic cause.

We’ve got a brilliant few weeks coming up, so make sure you pop these in the calendar!

🍻 Sunday 30th August – Our fifth Sunday Car Meeting of the season! On the grid from 10am, chequered flag at 12.30pm. Complimentary coffee, bacon butties and a Lucky Saint on us for car club members.

🎶 Friday 4th September – Special Friday Music Session with Plus One. Live instrumental jazz from 7.45pm, great music to dine and drink to.

🚴 Saturday 5th September – The Tour De Cat! Cheshire Cat Pubs’ cycle challenge in aid of the North West Air Ambulance, stopping off with us along the way. Registration at The Church Inn from 8am, 8.30am sharp start.

🏎️ Saturday 26th September – Car Treasure Hunt 2026! Cars in the pits at 2pm, open to all (you don’t need to be a car club member). Win a £200 gift card sponsored by Tanqueray 0%, all in aid of the Air Ambulance.

⚖️ Tuesday 27th October – The Judge’s Awfully Good Pub Quiz returns from 8pm-ish. Teams welcome, who will win Judgement Day?

There's something about live music on a Friday that just makes the evening feel extra special. Tonight we're welcoming 'Plus One' to the Cholmondeley Arms for another special sessions of live jazz... double bass and piano weaving together as the room settles into dinner and drinks.

Friday nights at The Cholmondeley Arms just got a little more soulful 🎶

Picture this: a summer Friday in Cheshire, glasses clinking, plates of good food on the table, and the warm, unhurried sound of live jazz drifting through the room.

August around Cholmondeley is full of ways to spend a day well 🌿🗺️

Deva Fest returns to the castle grounds from 6th–9th August… it sold out, but a limited number of tickets have just been released as a late drop, and as a customer of ours you can get 10% off with our code CCATFRIENDS.

If you’re after something to eat afterwards, we’re running our Great British Beef Week from 6th–14th August, with prime 28-day aged steaks cut to order 🥩

The little ones will love BeWILDerwood, just up the road near Whitchurch and open right through to 1st September.

Beyond the big names, there’s plenty worth seeking out locally too. Beeston Castle offers some of the best views in the county from its rocky crag, and the Sandstone Trail links it all together with Peckforton Castle for ridge-top views and quiet stretches most visitors never find.

Cheshire Farm Ice Cream is worth the drive on its own merits, with over 50 flavours made on site, and Bolesworth Estate in Tattenhall is well worth a visit just for the grounds and the walk around the lake.

And right on our doorstep, Cholmondeley Castle Gardens are blooming beautifully… stay the night with our Botanical Break and wake up ready to explore them 🌸🌿

Great British Beef Week comes to the Cholmondeley Arms! 🥩🌾

From this Thursday, the Cholmondeley Arms is celebrating Great British Beef Week with nine days of steak sourced straight from the fields around us.

28-day aged beef from Cheshire and Shropshire farms. A ribeye with real bite, a fillet that melts, a rump with real depth of flavour, and a sirloin with a full, rounded flavour... all cut to order and cooked over the grill, served with roasted tomato, onion rings and Massey's Farm chips, and finished with delicious sauces, from classic Bordelaise or béarnaise to Burt's blue cheese or king prawns and garlic butter.
