Lunch is the perfect opportunity to enjoy something a little different. Our Chorizo & Pancetta Pasta combines wholewheat pasta quills with roasted vegetables, aged Parmesan, chorizo and cured pancetta, all finished in a roasted red pepper and basil cream sauce.

Fish & Chips has been part of Irish food culture for well over a century, with many of the country’s early chip shops opened by Italian families who settled in Ireland. Somewhere along the way, it became something completely our own.

In Galway, that connection feels especially natural. The Atlantic has shaped the city for generations, from its fishing traditions to the way seafood continues to feature on tables across the city today.

A few pictures from last Wednesday’s Traditional Irish Music session at The Western. It was a great evening, with plenty of music and a lovely atmosphere in the bar.

We have live music five nights a week, with Traditional Irish Music every Wednesday and Thursday, followed by live cover bands from Friday to Sunday. We hope to see you soon for a drink, some good food and a great evening out.

Every part of The Western Restaurant tells a different story. From the artwork showing familiar Galway scenes to the original stonework of our building, you will find little touches of the city and its history throughout the space.

We have brought these original features together with warm lighting, rich textures and modern details to create a restaurant that feels elegant, comfortable and full of character. Look around and you will notice that every corner feels a little different, while still being part of the same story.

For us, a great dining experience is not only about the food on the table. It is about the atmosphere, the people you are sharing it with and the space around you. We want every visit to The Western Restaurant to feel special from the moment you sit down.

A great evening of live music, good company and a few drinks in the bar. If you enjoyed it, or would like to join us next time, we have a different traditional Irish music group playing every Wednesday and Thursday.

Live music continues throughout the weekend, with cover bands playing classics from the 70s, 80s and 90s every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Everyone is welcome, so come in for a drink, enjoy the music and spend a different evening with us.
