We are still crossing our fingers for some rain soon. Meanwhile, we have a nice selection of ales and a few events that will make your Summer… well… summery.
What is on at the GB?

- Monday (3 Aug): Our popular starts the week, with lots of creative minds getting together to listen and support each other. Get here early to get on the list; 8 pm start.

- Tuesday (4 Aug): Pub quiz time! Competitive but fun. It gets busy, so get down early to secure a table. 8.30 pm start.

- Wednesday (5 Aug): Bob and Vic get the turntable out to let everyone share their music tastes or new discoveries on vinyl. Bring 4 tracks to share. Always a good night. 8 pm start.

- Saturday (8 Aug): COMMUNITY DJs NIGHT. Friends, staff and regulars of the GB get together to spin some hits to fill the dance floor and pull shapes. 7 pm start.

- Sunday (9 Aug): The traditional Folk session at the garden room, that always impresses regulars and casuals. From 8 pm.

The Sun is giving us a break, so come and make the most of our beautiful beer garden while you can.
Meanwhile, we have:

- Tuesday (28 Jul): Test your knowledge while having fun in our not-very-traditional pub quiz. It starts at 8.30, but early arrival is recommended.

- Wednesday (29 Jul): Rowan and Friends are back for their 44th appearance in the GB. A night that is always full of memorable performances, this time with The Fool and Troutflies. 8 pm start.

- Sunday (2 Aug): Our Folk Session is on, and everybody is always welcome to join. From 8 pm.

The first week of the School holidays!
Why not enjoy it in the GB’s sunny, green beer garden? Also, this week we have:

- Monday (20 July): A full display of talent from all across York in a supportive and friendly environment in our famous Open Mic! From 8 pm till 11 pm

- Tuesday (21 July): Popular knowledge questions, accordion and kazoo. That is our amazing Pub Quiz, which always fills up early. 8.30 pm start, but seating is limited, so come early.

- Saturday (25 July): We have been waiting for this quite a long time. Jarmouse and the Pennydrops will take over our main bar in one of the most eclectic gigs ever to happen here. Bring your best sense of humour, your irony, and your dancing feet. From 8 pm.

- Sunday (26 July): Folk folf folk… the friendly session of our Garden Room will close the week superbly. From 8 pm.

Now, what is happening at the GB this week?

- Monday (13 July): The most talented and interesting open mic in town is on. Share your talents in a supportive and inspiring environment. From 8 pm, but get down early to be on the list.

- Tuesday (14 July): Gather your mates (up to 6) and test your knowledge in our challenging but fun Pub Quiz, which always includes around 10 minutes of kazoo. 8.30 pm start, but seating is limited, so come early.

- Thursday (16 July): Planet Food hosts the Poetry & Jam night to raise funds for their projects. A chilled night with multiple talents on display and open to anyone. From 7 pm.

- Friday (17 July): It is finally happening, Soma Crew is playing at the Ball, in a very special set with a laid-back sound. It is free entry as always, but also a good chance to listen to some of the best musicians in town. From 8 pm.

-Sunday (19 July): The traditional Folk American Session takes over the garden room with lovely rhythms and a great sense of humour. From 8 pm.

Tonight is Latin Night at La Bola Dorada.
Even if too hot for dancing, we will play some Latin American hits for a good sing-along.
Remember that we are collecting donations for Venezuela, bring some and let's give each other a hand!

The heat is returning, but our beer garden offers a nice, fresh spot for a drink. Just make sure you are drinking plenty of water as well.

From this week, we are starting to help the Venezuelan community in York with their collection of materials to help Venezuela after the double-earthquake that has become one of their biggest tragedies in history. Please help.

- Tuesday (7 Jul): Our very popular Pub Quiz is back with Ben and his Kazoo. Get your team together and arrive early if you want a table. Starts at 8.30 pm.
- Friday (10 Jul): La Bola Dorada Latin Night is on. Come down to dance, meet new people, and enjoy music from across Latin America. We will also be collecting donations for Venezuela, with sanitary products and medical supplies especially welcome. Music starts at 7.30 pm.
- Sunday (12 Jul): As every Sunday, our Garden Room welcomes the Folk Americana Session. From 8 pm.
