When Benny Shakes and Mark Nicholas- Stand Up Comedian both took this off Steve Day hands in 2022 they didnt realise how much this night would progress, to the point where they recieved the 'Disability Champions' Award in 2023 for all their work with the diaability community at Edinburgh Fringe Festival
Since Benny Shakes Things Up has taken the sole reigns from 2025 he has taken this from strength to strength running so many amazing monthly showcases in Nottingham and spearheading anothet successfull Edinburgh Fringe Culminating in being given a very deserved ISH Comedy Awards in August that year!
As Benny says, its not about him, its about every disabled performer that has graced the stage at Disabled Cants
As a London based Disability Night its so amazing to see another brilliant night with that Ethos at the Biggest Arts Festival in the World

HWe are so happy with this year's Disabled Cants lineup for the Edinburgh Fringe. ??
This year, we've worked really hard to make sure more performers with physical disabilities are represented across the lineup, as many still struggle to access regular gigs and opportunities in the comedy industry. We've also hopefully found the right balance of neurodiverse acts, mental health representation, and physically disabled comedians throughout the run.
A massive thank you to all the amazing acts joining us this year, including:
Tez Baker, Jojo Chinaski, Sasha Zhivago, Stephen Catling, Mark McKean, Gabby Rolls, Yvonne Hughes, Jake Donaldson, Leo Capella, Chloe Reynolds, Jonny Brook, Karen Buknall, Stacey Edwards, Rose Wilde, Will Farr, Amy Albright, Katie Johnson, Lubna Kerr, Liana Harrison, Samantha Marlow-Kent, Luke Harrower, Jonathan Lloyd, James Beckett, Stevie Wicks, George Coppen, Rabiah C**n, Eryn Tett, Ben Miller, Jamie-Diane Rajaram, Samuel Gene, Ems Coombes, Nat Young, and many more.

For us, Disabled Cants has always been about creating opportunities, building confidence, and giving disabled comedians a proper platform to shine at one of the biggest arts festivals in the world.
Applications for this year are now officially closed.
But don't forget, everyone is still welcome to come and sit with us at Bar 50. Over the past four years of Benny hosting Disabled Cants, Bar 50 has become the hub to be for the disabled comedy community at the Fringe.
We hope to see you all there, have a laugh, support one another, and enjoy a fantastic festival together. Benny can't wait to see you all there alongside Mark McKean and Jen Swan, with Susanna Clarke from Ingenious Fools supporting the team throughout the Fringe.
Thank you to everyone who applied, supported us, shared posts, bought tickets, and believed in what we're building. Edinburgh 2026 is going to be special.
