Tucked away on the Bolesworth Estate, Harthill Church has been part of the local landscape for centuries.

A chapel was recorded here as far back as 1280, while the present church dates to 1609. Look closely and you’ll find churchwarden inscriptions dating to 1611 and 1775. ✨

The churchyard is home to an 1885 mausoleum belonging to the Barbour family of Bolesworth Castle, adding another connection to the Estate’s rich history.

Today, Harthill Church is also one of our unique filming locations, offering an authentic backdrop for period dramas and atmospheric productions.

Nearly 200 years of stories, heritage and history. 🏰

Bolesworth Castle has stood at the heart of the Estate since 1829, when it was built for Manchester businessman George Walmesley.

In 1856, the Castle was purchased by Robert Barbour, who had travelled from Glasgow to Manchester and built a thriving business in the cotton industry. It was the beginning of a family connection with Bolesworth that continues to this day.

Almost two centuries later, the Castle remains at the heart of the Estate - surrounded by generations of stories, changing landscapes and a heritage that continues to shape Bolesworth today.

Thrive Gym Studio has grown! 💪 They've recently moved into a larger space on the Bolesworth Estate.

We popped in recently to film some exciting content and couldn't resist taking a few snaps of their fantastic new space to share with you.

Thrive is home to the area's first reformer Pilates studio within a gym, alongside four dedicated training spaces, a spin studio and 1-to-1 coaching. They also have exciting plans to grow into a complete wellness hub.
