Conkers on the week-end!

The inaugural Fowler-Pickett memorial trophy! In honour of two of the finest gents I’ve ever had the privilege to know!

Mad Max Thunder Dome Rules!

Two conkers enter! One conker leaves! That conker becomes a 1er.

Game 2 …the 1er wins again its becomes a 2er…or it loses and and that conker becomes a 2 er…it’s 1 win plus the points of the conker it defeated!

And so it continues…it will be easier to explain in real time….there will be 2 teams:

Team Tony - the Reds. - The Stereophonics

Team Craig - the Blues - The Smiths

Entry £1 a game…choose which one you preferred…unless that one just lost in which case you’ll have to have Craig …all proceeds go to Queenscourt Hospice I’ll match the proceeds…probably be about a fiver if previous years are anything to go by….I’d love to be proved wrong though!

It’s not really felt till Autumn but by crikey it does now!

As is traditional I’ll be putting on a line-up b**rs that more than one person has described as “commercial suicide!” To which I reply more like commercial death by a thousand pin-pricks!”

Anyhoo next weekend I’ll try to dress-up a normal weekend as an event.

Harvest-Halloween!

Witch with hindsight sounds like a slasher-movie. Witch is honestly no bad thing!

Yeah there will be the poorly attended conker-comp but I have a plan for that!

There’s also Bedford 45 spinning the vinyl!

Then on Sunday…more vinyl…but this time yours! Or most likely Pete’s on our all new record-player procured from our good friend and neighbours MakeItWorkShop CIC

It’s mainly vinyl related! No skittles!

After the unmitigated success of the last day-time disco (at points there were double figures in attendance!)

Bedford 45 is going again!

This time on Halloween!

What I don’t get is that all you vinyl wankers (you know who you are) would love it. Last time he was all vinyl granted that was because something broke (he did explain to me but I stopped listening if I’m brutally honest… he does bang on).

Anyway it being Halloween if you don’t turn-up he’s going postal on Quicksilver Music. Don’t worry I’ll give Dave the heads-up so he and his lady can get into the huge safe that’s in his basement. The rest of you are toast though! So I’d put your New Balance on! Those adidas gazelles look good but they are s**t to dodge bullets in!

Best turn-up! In costume ideally!

Firstly many thanks to Richard Lee Lifeson-Peart for having his retirement do here!

Wait what? It was his birthday? He’s 60 not 67? Wow The years have not been kind!

I stayed away as I didn’t want to ruin the vibe but by all accounts it was a hell of a night.

Secondly apologies to him. In one of my ‘amusing reserved’ signs I inferred he was a fascist and in fact he’s a Marxist! It’s my bad I struggle with left and right (I had to write it on my hands when I was taking my driving test ). It’s actually a thing…. Google it!

Anyway they drank a lot but the perfect Sunday casks are still on if you fancy a walk out on this lovely day!
