🧀❤️ Community pub doing community things. 🥲🤝
Yesterday's Cheese 4 Change was everything we'd hoped it would be: a room full of wonderful people, delicious cheese, warm conversation, and a shared desire to do some good. ✨️
First and foremost, a huge thank you to Anne-Marie Morrissey, whose knowledge, passion, and enthusiasm for cheese transformed the afternoon into something really special. The spread was nothing short of magnificent, and every plate made it count. 🍽
Thank you too to everyone at the pub who helped host, organise, serve, chat, pour drinks, keep the day feeling welcoming, relaxed and community-focused. Events like this only happen because people are ready to muck in behind the scenes. 🙏
We're also incredibly grateful to the fantastic suppliers who helped make the day such a tasty success. The cheeses were, of course, the stars of the show, but they were joined by some equally brilliant accompaniments. Huge thanks to Rise Bakehouse, Cheese Louise Shop and Village Maid Cheese for supplying products that had people coming back for "just one more piece" all afternoon. 😛
Most importantly, thank you to everyone who came along, filled their plates, emptied their pockets, and supported such a worthwhile cause. Every donation will go towards supporting Last Chance Animal Rescue a charity dedicated to giving animals a future when hope can sometimes feel in short supply. 💸
This event was held in memory of Connor Styles-Brown, and we'd especially like to thank Keira and Fran for sharing the day with us, keeping Connor's memory alive, and giving us the opportunity to help turn loss and grief into something positive for others. It was a privilege. 🫶
We're still counting the rather impressive wodge of cash that accumulated throughout the day, but one thing is already clear: this community showed up magnificently. Thank you all!!! 💛
