Memories of the Prince Of Wales Caversham

Memories of the Prince Of Wales Caversham The Prince of Wales is a friendly local pub in Caversham Reading. Serving remarkable gins, whiskeys, Thank you for your co-operation with this.

The Prince of Wales Pub, situated on the edge of Caversham, is a cosy traditional style Pub with a modern twist, and is run by the James Family.

The pub was established circa 1896. The proprietors today are Jackie & Andrew James.

Jackie and Andrew come from a family of publicans that started in the trade in 1962 at the Lamb Tavern in Islington which was an early morning house on the edge of th

e cattle market in the centre of Islington, North London, (Yes! There actually was a cattle market in London right up to the mid sixties!) Since then Jackie and Andrew have run pubs in Camden Town including The Devonshire Arms and The Engine Room, both of which were frequented by many famous musicians and actors through the years. Now, Jackie and Andrew are delighted to be running the Prince of Wales in Caversham since 2014.

You can be assured of a warm welcome in a relaxing atmosphere, which is very popular with the local community and local businesses of Caversham and greater Reading.

So why not drop in? With a great drink selection on offer, a big screen, heated pation, a beer garden and a garden bar on the way (watch this space..), the Prince of Wales Pub is the perfect place to relax with a cold (or hot) beverage or to grab a quick bite while visiting the quaint suburb of Caversham..

Situated just a 15min walk from Reading town centre and train station. Helpful information
Free car parking is available for customers. Children under 18 must leave the premises no later than 8pm
If you are bringing your four legged friend, we allow dogs on a lead in most areas of the pub up until 8pm - We ask that if your faithful friend starts barking, please take him or her to the outside area at the front of the pub.

1 year ago today we had our final night at The Prince, I don't know where that time has gone. So much has happened since then. We loved every moment of our time at the Prince, made so many wonderful friends and memories that we cherish. Sadly for all the Prince people we all lost some very dear friends since.
We hope you are all keeping safe and well and we can't wait until we can all meet up again in Cav. Lots of love to you all from Jackie, Andy and family ###❤☘

As many of you may now have heard, sadly we have lost two more members of our 'pub family' . Joe Ritchie Bennett ( pictured below) and James Furlong were regulars at the Prince of Wales and friends to all of us. They were two truly beautiful souls who were very much loved by all. We offer our deepest condolences to theirs and their friend David Wails families and friends. May they rest in peace. Gone from us but still in our hearts. Jackie, Andrew and all of the Prince family.
