Morning everyone.

Just to make everyone aware, there will be more filming taking place around the Civic Centre this afternoon which may interrupt Jon’s recital. We will post updates about it when we know more!

29/10/2026

Appreciably not Friday but Jon is having a pedal spring adjusted by the lovely folks from Taylor's Bellfoundry, Loughborough so he will be playing the carillon for a short while this morning! 😃

23/10/2026

More music from the carillon today at the usual time!

09/10/2026

More music at the usual time of 1400! Come along and listen to Jon play some classical carillon music from the Netherlands and Belgium!

02/10/2026

Music by Diabelli today to replace last week’s lost recital! Also, Jon is back doing his improvisations for Newcastle Festival of Jazz and Improvised Music from 1700 this evening!

25/09/2026

Yikes! Last minute changes of plan! Jon’s weekly recital now at 1530-1630 and his Jazz Festival recital will be from 1830-1930! Newcastle Festival of Jazz and Improvised Music

Many apologies for any inconvenience this has caused - this was completely beyond Jon’s control! Sadly, this can be the limitation of big civic instruments!

23/09/2026

Special double recital this Friday! Jon will be celebrating the life of Diabelli at 1400 - AND, from 1700, in association with the Newcastle Festival of Jazz and Improvised Music, Jon will be improvising on themes around Chernobyl and his piece “Memories of Caesium” to mark the 40th anniversary of the accident.

Please come along to listen in!
