Remembering Marty βHappyβ Quigley
We were saddened to hear of the passing of our good friend and Anchor regular, Marty βHappyβ Quigley.
A familiar face at our jamming sessions, Marty was a man of few words at times, but when he did speak, you could be sure there was a sharp remark or a bit of mischief coming your way.
With his pint bottles of Guinness (off the shelf, of course!), his wonderfully dry sense of humour and his own unique take on Cockney rhyming slang, Marty was a real character. Always quick-witted, usually one step ahead of the joke and never short of a clever comeback.
Itβs characters like Marty who make The Anchor what it is, and his absence will certainly be felt around the bar, particularly among the jammers and staff who enjoyed his company over the years.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to Martyβs family and friends.
Rest easy, Happy. Youβll be sorely missed by us all.
