Ever noticed the tiles in the alley between Bob Trollopes and The Redhouse?

They aren’t just for decoration, they date back to the late 1800s when the Quayside was packed with sailors, traders and dock workers. Who all needed feeding! But why a pig and a cow? Most likely a nod to the kind of food served here back then… and still on the menu over a century later.

Howay in and have a proper look! his old pub is a bit of Newcastle’s working class history🍻
