Last Saturday night when the roller shutter well and truly was ruined at close of the night it was a super depressing moment.
That huge thing costs a LOT to replace. I fretted about how we’d find the £££.
Up stepped our incredible pal Tel from .shack who has put together a Go Fund Me to help us meet the cost.
A share would be brilliant and if you happen to have a quid or two we’d be so so grateful.
Community is everything to us and we can’t believe how folk have stepped up.

The ever wonderful .shakencl celebrates their 4th birthday tonight here with us. Doors at 7 and fabulous dance floor action till 1am.

Some news:
As things are changing so much here at The Old Coal Yard we thought you’d probably appreciate an update.
Since Northern Alchemy Brewery vacated the the building earlier this year, it has become clear that what we are and what the communities that make use of want from us is a dedicated event/party/gig/wedding venue.
We’re surrounded by fantastic bars that are open all the time. As such we don’t feel that opening up if we don’t have something happening makes financial sense.
From here on we will be opening for specific events only. We hope this gives us more time to create many more of our own events and be able to keep you updated on what’s happening and when.
We appreciate the frustration of not knowing whether you can just pop in or not. We hope this makes sense for all our pals.

Thursday nights are games nights!
Pool, darts, fuseball, skittles, cards battleships, chess, backgammon. We haven’t got any dominoes just yet but they are coming.
