The last train may have puffed past The Railway Inn way back in 1964, but the business is still going as strong as ever with three generations and over 50 years of family experience at the helm. Owner Sue Perkins embarked upon a journey of the heart and bought the derelict Railway Inn in 1999 with the dream of following in her mother, Edith’s footsteps. Edith was one of the very first landladies in Hull who ran The Punchbowl on James Reckitt Avenue and The Bluebell in Sproatley for many successful years. Combined with both her Mother’s spirit and the sheer strength of family Sue and her daughters have successfully transformed The Railway Inn into a truly fantastic pub by effortlessly injecting a heart warming sense of home that transcends right through the
building and the menu. The high quality home cooked meals which range from their famous homemade steak pies to haddock and chips and even various vegetarian options which are all made with the upmost care, attention and most importantly - locally sourced ingredients. Combined with catering space for all occasions including wedding receptions, birthday parties and functions in their beautiful function room - The Railway Inn truly is the home of heart, soul and family and with the newest additions of Granddaughter Lilly
Edith and Grandson Louie, the spirit of the family continues to grow on.

Just like that, it’s Cam’s last shift with us after 5 amazing years. 🥹❤️

He started with us as a pot washer and over the years has grown so much, to the point where there’s not much in the business he can’t turn his hand to!

But Cam hasn’t just been a member of staff — he’s become part of our family. He’s been there through everything, helped look after the kids, made us laugh and has always been someone we can rely on.

Now he’s off to university to follow his dream of becoming a doctor, and we genuinely couldn’t be prouder of him. 🩺🎓

Cam, thank you for everything you’ve done for us over the last 5 years. We’re going to miss you more than you know, but we can’t wait to see what the future holds for you.

Go smash it, future Dr Cam! ❤️🥂
