The number of businesses in hospitality struggling right now is truly heart breaking

They are being squeezed in every direction

Making us pay 20% on every sale is driving so many out of business

This is on top of all the other taxes we have to pay

So many costs have risen from the core food and drink we buy from wholesalers , business rates, beer duty, employment charges, energy costs it really is the worst I’ve ever seen it

I also think retail and the hair and beauty industry desperately need a VAT cut

We are cutting the oxygen off to so many businesses small and large

I’m a great believer in paying taxes as it taxes that build the fair and just society we all want to live in

However they have to be fair and proportional

VAT at 20% is neither fair or proportional in the current economic landscape

Its a lazy tax that kills enterprise, jobs and hope for so many

Young people are desperate for work but the government have made it so tough that tens of thousands of young people are looking for work because so many hospitality businesses are closing or cutting back

Please don’t tell me we can’t afford it, the money governments waste and burn every day is truly outrageous they do this off the back of businesses across the country working so hard yet often just surviving

If you love your local pub, or a coffee at your favourite cafe or a meal at your favourite restaurant please help them and share this so we can spread the message

Less VAT more hope
Less VAT more jobs
Less VAT More beer

Everyone meet Sophie before the World Cup starts😁

She helps out behind the bar during busy weekend periods and also those quiet day time shifts that no one likes doing😭

She’s has been a part of the White Bear family on and off for 6 years now and has become a great asset to the team (our longest working team member)🤩

Her favourite drink on those days off is a spiced rum and coke, and her favourite White bear meal is the pulled pork loaded fries😋🍟

When she is not working here part time, she is at home with the her daughter, who is cutest 3 year old little girl🥰
A fun fact about Sophie is you may be seeing her in the new upcoming Peaky Blinders series as she’s also an actress, but she doesn’t like to brag about it so I’ll do it for her😝

Head on down throughout these next few months of football and England galore and chat with Sophie😁

Meet the staff before the World Cup Kicks off!!!!
Next up we have our Supervisor Ruby, she looks after everything when the Holly and Luke aren’t there😁

She makes sure the front of house is kept to an amazing standard for all you lovely customers, and makes sure our team has the support and guidance whilst also keeping things fun🤩

She loves a Lilley’s mango cider and her favourite white bear meal is the chilli loaded fries 🍟😋

When she’s not running around at work, she is at home with her little baby chihuahua, or out for a meal with friends🥰

She is a big part of what makes the White Bear work so make sure you come on down and say hello👋

Meet our other manager, Holly is the go to person about everything. She is always right, and never makes any mistakes - well that’s what she loves to tell people😭

Shes the best mixologist, makes the best cocktails and even created our own cocktail menu🍸
She runs everything here at the White bear, from your events, social media to even just your quiet Monday nights😁

She’s been apart of the White Bear family for 3 years now and has created great bonds with all you regulars. For those who really know her, know she currently holds the record for the most glasses broken (as you can tell she’s very clumsy)😭

Her favourite after shift drink is an Aperol Spritz of course, and her favourite White Bear dinner is just your plain Bear Burger(this is the point she would call herself basic lol)🍔

When she is not here she is found either in the pub drinking her Aperol spritz or at home in bed by 8pm with some chocolate🍫

She works tirelessly everyday to make sure everything runs perfectly and everywhere is nice and tidy as she values her customers a lot🥰 Come on down and see Holly over the World Cup games, she will be busy making sure she gets all those social media pictures and videos for you all📱

As it’s the World Cup Coming Up in literally just over a weeks time, we thought it’s about time you lovely lot know who’s going to be sharing those World Cup moments with you all (hopefully good)😝

First up is one of our Managers, Luke is often seen running the bar, or the kitchen and even runs our White Bear Darts Team (If any of you fancy going up against him)😅

He is partial to a pint (or 2😉)and his favourite White Bear dinner is Cajun Chicken Loaded Fries!

He helps out behind the scenes to make sure everything is running smoothly, and is our occasional handyman🐻‍❄️ Luke’s favourite song is Maybe Tomorrow by The Stereophonics (don’t ask him to sing it though)🎶🎸

When he’s not at work, he’s at every single Coventry City game, which means he will definitely be working most of the World Cup games here😂 If you love footy and fancy a pint, come on down and see Luke as he’s the man to go to😁
