180 Years of The Crown Inn 🍻

A little bit of Glossop history… and a very special milestone.

Did you know that The Crown Inn, Glossop was built in 1846?

Generations have met here, friendships have been made, stories have been shared, celebrations have taken place and, no doubt, the occasional disagreement has been settled over a pint! 🍺.

The Crown has no doubt witnessed an incredible amount of change in Glossop over those 180 years, yet the role of a traditional local pub remains much the same — a place for people to come together.

And there’s another milestone just around the corner…

🍺 50 Years with Samuel Smith’s

In 2027, The Crown Inn will have been operated by Samuel Smith’s Brewery for 50 years.

We’re proud to be looking after a pub with such a long connection to the local community, and we’re determined to keep The Crown as what we believe a proper “local” should be — somewhere people know, somewhere they can have a conversation, and somewhere they can feel at home.

There’s something special about The Crown Inn, Glossop… and it’s not just the beer – it’s the people.

Our regulars are the heart of this little pub and are what make it such a warm and welcoming place. Whether you’re a familiar face or visiting for the first time, you’ll always find a friendly conversation waiting.

Inside, there’s something for everyone too – our welcoming main bar, the pool, darts and games room, the comfortable lounge and our cosy snug. Looking for a proper traditional pub in Glossop? 🍺

The Crown Inn is a true local favourite, offering a warm, welcoming atmosphere, friendly service, and a fantastic selection of drinks. Enjoy some of Samuel Smith’s finest lagers, stout, cider and fruit beers. Not forgetting the Old Brewery Bitter served straight from the iconic wooden cask.

Encouraging great conversation and quality time with friends and family is what the Crown Inn is renowned for. Add in excellent beer, reasonable prices, and plenty of character, and it’s easy to see why it’s considered one of Glossop’s best pubs.
