Echoes Of The Bunnymen return to The Globe this Halloween evening!

The Echoes of the Bunnymen show is an aural tribute to the alternative Fab Four. Featuring some of the best tracks from the original line up’s amazing run of albums. Played by musicians who are huge fans of the Bunnymen, authentically trying to recreate the early sound of one of the UK’s best ever indie bands. It’s not a traditional tribute act, no dressing up – just a love and appreciation of iconic music and long live the real thing. Lay down thy disbelief and groove!

Grey Lantern return to The Globe tomorrow night, presenting international folk collective Garefowl in support of their new album on AD93 'Things That Vanish'!

Garefowl is a project originally conceived by Ewan Macdonald and his father Murdo, relatives of one of the men who killed the last Great Auk (Garefowl), to reflect on and mark this family history. Now an international group of musicians combining strings and electronics, Garefowl members comprise: Nathan Bontrager (viola da gamba/harmonium/banjo), Stuart Graham (bouzouki/harmonica/harmonium), Chris Jones (concertina/mandolin), Ewan Macdonald (fiddle/smallpipe drone), Richard O’Flynn (island sounds/percussion/XRD drones), Jess Whelligan (cello).

Their first album Cliffs was released in 2020 and contains five immersive instrumental interpretations of traditional St Kildan songs sourced from archive recordings and manuscript collections, alongside three modern tunes written on or about the Scottish album of St Kilda.

Second album Things That Vanish was recorded on Hirta, the main island of St Kilda, at night. The soundscapes of Hirta breathe across the record: a quiet rolling swell of winds, waves, birds, and the otherworldly thrum of the snipe. Taking influence from the traditional folk music of St Kilda, the tunes on the record are inspired by the threatened seabirds of the islands (Puffin, Guillemot, Storm Petrel, Cormorant, Shearwater, Kittiwake, Gannet, Bonxie, and Fulmar). The band were intrigued by the folk stories around these birds, and how they often are depicted to imbue a primal, dark and haunting nature.

Jo Quail is a London-based composer and virtuoso cellist, widely recognised for her innovative use of live looping and her ability to create immersive, emotionally powerful music from a single instrument. Performing solo and with ensembles, choirs, and orchestras, her work bridges contemporary classical, experimental, and heavy music with striking clarity and depth.

She has performed internationally at major venues and festivals including the Royal Albert Hall (UK), Hellfest (France), Melbourne Recital Centre (Australia), and Roadburn Festival (Netherlands). Her live performances have been described by Distorted Sound Magazine as leaving audiences “utterly spellbound by the talents of this extraordinary woman.”

Tiny Vipers is the music project of American singer and multi-instrumentalist Jesy Fortino. Known for its minimalism, her style combines elements of folk, ambient, and atmospheric music and is characterized by sparse instrumentation, often using just an acoustic guitar and vocals. People and times past wander through her songs like ghosts looking for a home, appearing and then vanishing into deft guitar playing that is reminiscent of John Fahey and Ry Cooder.

Delphine pushes the boundaries of the flute far beyond the angelic sound it is often associated with, as demonstrated in her numerous musical projects including .trio and Flotjer. With her solo project, CALAMITY, she applies a mix of electronics, vocal and mouth effects, and percussion to create dramatic duals between madness and introspection, organic and electric, acoustic and amplified. Following their sold-out show with BIG|BRAVE last year, Grey Lantern and slowpoke are teaming up once again to bring Brazil's DEAFKIDS to The Globe on Monday 12th October, with support from Manchester's Holy Scum!

Formed in 2010 in Volta Redonda/Rio de Janeiro and signed with the North-American label Neurot Recordings since 2017, the work of multi-instrumentalists Douglas Leal (vocals, guitar, electronics, samplers, percussive, artwork, etc) and Marian Sarine (drums, percussive, electronics, bass) consistently blends the raw spirit of noise and punk with complex global rhythms and electronic experimentation, creating a vibrant and provocative body of work that challenges musical and aesthetic conventions.

The duo come to The Globe in Glossop in support of their vital and combustive new album, CICATRIZES DO FUTURO (SCARS OF THE FUTURE). This nine-track sonic assault forges a path beyond the conventions and boundaries of static musical genres. Here, electronic fury and feverish organic percussion collide with a relentless Latin American punk spirit. CICATRIZES DO FUTURO is the band's first non-collaborative full length since 2019's Metaprogramação, is out via Neurot Recordings.

Since their debut, Holy Scum has made waves at major festivals like Le Guess Who? and Roadburn, cementing their place in the music scene.
