On the 27th of September, we're giving beer the spotlight. In celebration of Oktoberfest, we've invited a few of our favourite local brewers to The Vaults for a mini festival-style celebration of thriving local craft brewing scene, bringing together a selection of local breweries for an afternoon of sampling session.

Kick off with a welcome dram on arrival before you set off to sample your way around our brewery stations. Meet the brewers, explore a range of styles and flavours, and discover what's making Scotland's beer scene so exciting right now.

And because we are The Scotch Malt Whisky Society, whisky is never too far away.

Join us at The Vaults on the 17th of September as we welcome Glasgow Distillery for a special Distillery Takeover, celebrating one of Scotland's most exciting modern whisky producers.

Founded with a passion for doing things differently while respecting tradition, Glasgow Distillery has quickly built a reputation for producing characterful spirits packed with flavour. For one evening only, you'll have the opportunity to explore a curated selection of their whiskies alongside specially chosen Society drams, with insights from the people behind the brand.

Throughout the evening, enjoy three Glasgow Distillery drams, a wee surprise pour to keep things interesting, and two Scotch Malt Whisky Society whiskies, selected to showcase different approaches to flavour, maturation and character.

To complete the experience, we'll serve a hearty Society Supper

Our latest 'Heresy' bottling, Batch 43: Noble Drop, is a single malt Scotch whisky matured in a combination of Tokaji-seasoned barriques and bourbon hogsheads - giving an indulgent dram, with rich dessert-wine fruit balanced by more delicate, blossom-like notes.

Expect notes of sultanas, rich oloroso sherry and sticky dessert wine, fried peach, and honey lemon drizzle cake glazed with coconut and orange blossom.
