Documentary screening, dram flight & movie snacks

Join us for a special screening of Scotch & Smoke: A Flavour Odyssey Part II – an immersive journey into one of whisky's most distinctive and divisive flavour profiles: peat.

Accompanied by a three-dram flight and movie snacks, this relaxed screening explores the connection between peat and Scotch whisky, from landscape to glass.

Follow whisky experts Richard and Calum as they travel from The Vaults in Leith to Islay, uncovering how peat is formed, harvested and used in whisky production – from peat cutting to traditional maltings and how smoky phenols find their way into the final spirit.

The documentary also looks at the future of peat through conversations with industry experts, scientists and whisky makers, exploring its role in flavour, culture and sustainability.

Our latest 'Heresy' bottling, Batch 43: Noble Drop, is a single malt Scotch whisky matured in a combination of Tokaji-seasoned barriques and bourbon hogsheads - giving an indulgent dram, with rich dessert-wine fruit balanced by more delicate, blossom-like notes. Expect notes of sultanas, rich oloroso sherry and sticky dessert wine, fried peach, and honey lemon drizzle cake glazed with coconut and orange blossom. Noble drop is available online and in Members’ Rooms.

No two Society whiskies are the same, so why would our festive experiences be any different? Our private dining packages are tailored to you, offering a taste of Christmas tradition with our signature focus on flavour.

We have three private dining spaces that can host from 8 to 40 guests.
Our festive dining packages start from £45 and include a three-course seasonal menu, tea and coffee and personalised menu cards.
We can also easily add in a whisky tasting, cocktails or fizz, canapes, cheese boards, and more – it’s up to you!

The cask gets most of the credit in whisky, but what if the real story begins before the spirit ever reaches the wood?

Join us for Still Curious on the 17th of September, an exploration of how distillers shape flavour through the design of their stills and the decisions they make during distillation. Through a series of carefully selected drams, we'll uncover how whiskies matured in the same cask types can develop entirely different personalities.

From tall and short stills, to high and low cut points, we'll delve into the subtle choices that create everything from light and fruity spirits to rich, oily and complex drams. It's a chance to look beyond the cask and discover the character, craft, and science behind every pour.

This tasting includes 5 drams and a Society supper.
