We like to support local producers as much as we can here at the Thistle Street Bar, so say hiya to our new house gin. Height of Arrows from the Holyrood Distillery is juniper forward with added sea salt and a hint of beeswax for texture. The name comes from the Gaelic Àrd-Na-Said which is reputedly the original name for Arthur’s Seat.

We’ve just learned that we have a 9.5/10 score on an app called The Black Map which rates the quality of Guinness served in pubs around the country. That’s currently the highest score in Edinburgh. Sláinte 😊

Folks we’ll be closed from Mon 5th to Thu 8th Jan to take care of all those maintenance jobs we can’t do when the pub is open for business. However, we’ll be back open for the weekend from Friday 9th at 12pm as usual.

We serve a great selection of single malts but we don’t serve coffee. Instead, we leave that to the professionals at the Cobbled Roastery in Thistle Street. 😊
