Three Marys Neighbourhood cocktail bar by The Shore of Leith celebrating its Three Marys

Come on down to Henderson St and enjoy a relaxed atmosphere with classic cocktails and local Leith beers! The story of our Three Marys

Mary Magdalene

Legend has it that the Leith persevere crest is not the previously assumed Mary and Jesus,
but is in fact Mary Magdalene, and the child of Christ. The speculation is that the child married into
the ruling house of France, that’s if the tail is to be believed, but we'll let you decide

Mary of Guise

Mary Queen of Scots mother had a strong connection to Leith. If you look out our back room, that whole area down to the water is where she held court. A French connection to Leith is precedent again due to her regency’s occupation of Leith from 1548-1560. Mary Queen of Scots

Probably the most famous (in Scotland anyway), this fiery redhead rocked up to The Shore from France on the 19th August 1561, just 18, and changed the course of history. If the stories are to be believed, all of this happened with being the direct descendent of that little baby on the persevere crest.

It’s National Mezcal day today! The perfect timing, because it is also Cocktail of the Week day so our cocktail of the week is a Mezcal Negroni! A great mixture of bitterness and smokiness all in one drink 😋 using Mezcal. Come on in for one!
