Did you know…

“Auld Reekie” is the traditional, affectionate Scots nickname for Edinburgh, meaning “Old Smoky”.

The Rose Street Brewery famously brewed its signature Auld Reekie b**r in the upstairs brewhouse.
The microbrewery opened in August 1983, with commercial brewing of the ale on-site ending in the 1990s. Lore suggests it was served primarily to local Rose Street residents because the live ale didn’t travel well!
