If these walls could talk... ✍️🍻
Milnes has been part of Edinburgh’s story since 1910 - and over the years some rather famous conversations have taken place within these walls.
The pub became a favourite meeting place for some of Scotland’s great literary figures, with poets including Hugh MacDiarmid, Sorley MacLean and Norman MacCaig gathering here to debate, write and put the world to rights.

We’re now closed while we give Milnes Bar an exciting transformation.
There’s plenty of work happening behind the scenes over the next few weeks, as we give this much-loved Edinburgh pub a fresh new look while keeping its history and character firmly at its heart ❤️

We’re getting ready to press pause for a few weeks, but not before one final weekend at Milnes Bar!
For generations, our little corner of Edinburgh has been a place for good conversation, good company and more than a few stories along the way ❤️
Join us for one last visit before we temporarily close on Sunday 27 September.
We’ll be back at the end of October with a beautiful new look, while celebrating all the history and character that makes Milnes so special.
