It’s really disheartening to see the recent decision by the local council to introduce licensing fees for cake cupboards and small food vendors.

These traders have brought life, convenience, and a real sense of community to our area. They’ve supported local residents, added character to our streets, and provided opportunities for small, independent businesses to grow.

Now, with these new fees in place, many of these traders are being forced to reconsider whether they can continue operating here at all. Some have already indicated they will cease trading in the area.

This raises an important question: what exactly are these fees being used for? Because from where many of us stand, the outcome seems to be the loss of valued local businesses rather than the improvement of our community.

Fewer traders means fewer choices for residents, less foot traffic for surrounding businesses, and a gradual erosion of the vibrant local economy we all benefit from.

We urge the council to reconsider this approach and engage with traders and residents to find a more supportive solution—one that sustains, rather than diminishes, our local community.

🍻 WE’RE HIRING: LEGENDS IN THE MAKING 🍻

Looking for a job where the hours are questionable, the laughs are guaranteed, and no two nights are ever the same?

We’re on the hunt for casual bar staff to join our slightly chaotic (but lovable) team.

Experience? Not essential.
Personality? Now we’re talking.

If you can:
– Pour a drink (or at least learn without flooding the bar)
– Handle long, lively, and occasionally what-day-is-it shifts
– Keep smiling through the madness
– Appreciate questionable jokes and dish them back just as fast

…then you might be exactly who we’re looking for.

What you’ll get:
✨ Minimum living wage (we’re honest, at least)
✨ Maximum banter
✨ A front-row seat to unforgettable nights
✨ Stories you probably shouldn’t tell your family

What we need:
🔥 A solid sense of humour (non-negotiable)
🔥 Energy, reliability, and a bit of grit
🔥 Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and the odd “how is it 1am already?” shift

Sound like your kind of chaos?

Slide into our DMs or pop in for a chat 🍹
