Multi Award Winning Destination Pub in the Blackdown Hills Candlelight Inn combines a great deal of usable space with a snug and inviting atmosphere.

There is certainly plenty of space without losing its intimate charm: Exposed stone walls, beamed ceiling and fireplaces and wood burners add character and the gardens are lovely. Enjoy our local ales, beers and fine produce in our restaurant.

There’s something rather lovely about making Christmas feel properly festive, especially when there’s a warm pub, a mug of mulled c***r and a wreath involved.

Join us at The Candlelight on Wednesday 2nd December for a cosy evening of wreath making with Ottilie’s Flowers, who’ll show you how to create your own beautiful, one-of-a-kind Christmas wreath.

You’ll start with a festive mug of mulled c***r before Hannah & Jane take you through the wreath-making process. Then it’s your turn, with a wonderful selection of foliage, dried flowers and Christmas trimmings, all grown and foraged by Ottilie’s Flowers. Your wreath will be made on a sustainable willow base, ready to take home and hang proudly on your door.

Once the making is done, settle in with your wreath and enjoy a festive ploughman’s supper — because no evening at The Candlelight would be complete without something good to eat.

We're so excited to be hosting another Christmas Wreath Workshop here at The Candlelight Inn this year.

We've teamed up with our friend Hannah from for a proper cosy, festive evening. Settle in next to the fire, glass in hand, while Hannah and Jane guide you through making your own wreath from seasonal foliage, dried flowers and Christmas trimmings.

And if you're sat there thinking you'd love to come but haven't got anyone to bring along - just come by yourself. You'll meet some lovely people, have a glass of something warming, and go home with a wreath you made yourself.

From Wednesday 23rd September, the evenings will be drawing in and we’ll be settling into autumn properly 🍂

On the menu: slow-cooked Wambrook lamb shepherd’s pie, proper Cumberland sausage with clotted cream mash, Cornish hake with sage and burnt butter risotto, and plenty more dishes made for the season.

A little cooler outside, perhaps, but just the sort of weather for a good meal at the pub.
