π—§π—›π—”π—‘π—ž 𝗬𝗒𝗨, 𝗠𝗒π—ͺπ—šπ—Ÿπ—œ

After two years with Bletchley Rugby Club, the time has come to say thank you and farewell to Darron β€˜Mowgli’ Moore, as he moves on from his coaching role with the Senior Men’s Section.

Across his time at The Manor, Mowgli has given an incredible amount to the players and wider club community. Coaching at grassroots level is never just the hours on a Tuesday and Thursday night - it’s the preparation, the conversations, the support, the matchdays and the commitment behind the scenes that often go unseen. Mowgli has thrown himself into all of it.

His contribution has helped support the development of players across the group, raise standards and create an environment where people have been able to enjoy their rugby, challenge themselves and represent the club with pride.

Like so many volunteers in our game, he has given up his own time to help others enjoy theirs and that commitment should never be taken for granted.

On behalf of everyone at Bletchley Rugby Club - players, coaches, volunteers and supporters - thank you for everything you have given over the last two years. We’re incredibly grateful for your efforts, your commitment and everything you’ve brought to the club.

We wish you nothing but success for the future and look forward to seeing where the next chapter takes you.

Yesterday saw another proud moment for the club as Sam Brown and Cam Watkins represented Buckinghamshire away against Somerset πŸ‘

A special mention goes to Cam who not only started at Fly Half but also took on the role of Vice Captain for the county side - a fantastic achievement and recognition of the standards, leadership and commitment he brings both on and off the field.

Pulling on your county shirt is something to be proud of. Being trusted with a leadership role makes it even more special.

Bletchley Rugby Club are delighted to announce the appointment of Spencer Garner as our new Player Pathway Coordinator.

Spencer is no stranger to the club, having previously coached within our youth section, and we’re excited to welcome him back in this new role. An experienced youth coach, Spencer brings a strong understanding of player development and progression.

This is an exciting and forward-thinking addition to our coaching and rugby structure as we continue to strengthen the connection between Colts rugby and the Senior Men’s section.

Spencer’s role has been put together with one clear aim - to ensure talented young players are supported, developed and given the best possible opportunity to make the transition into adult rugby in the right way.

Working primarily across the Colts, and the 2nd XV, Spencer will focus on:
πŸ‰ Supporting the progression of players from youth into senior rugby
πŸ‰ Creating clearer development and transition pathways
πŸ‰ Identifying opportunities for players to experience senior environments earlier and at the right time.
πŸ‰ Building stronger communication between coaches, captains and players
πŸ‰ Supporting individual player development plans and long-term retention
πŸ‰ Providing dedicated support and focus to the 2nd XV as a key stage in player development

Spencer will work closely alongside Head of Rugby, Paul Allen and Director of Academy Rugby, Jordan Murray to help deliver a joined-up approach across the club’s rugby programme.

This appointment represents another step in creating a genuine β€œOne Club” approach - ensuring our younger players can see a clear route from junior and Colts rugby through to wearing the maroon and white in senior rugby.

With exciting plans ahead for the Senior Men’s section and the continued growth of our Colts programme, we’re looking forward to seeing Spencer make a real impact.

π—§π—›π—”π—‘π—ž 𝗬𝗒𝗨, 𝗔π—₯π—–π—›π—œπ—˜ 🫑

After a fantastic spell in the Maroon & White, we can confirm that Archie Barrett will be leaving Bletchley to join Letchworth Rugby Football Club on a semi-professional playing contract ahead of next season.

Archie has been a huge part of the 1st XV squad both on and off the field, becoming a key figure in both flanker and centre with his physical carrying, tenacious defensive work, and ability to create moments in big games. Whether it was crossing for important tries, putting in huge defensive shifts, or simply giving everything for the shirt every Saturday, Archie has represented this club with pride.

His impact this season was also recognised by his teammates, being voted 1st XV Players’ Player of the Season - a reflection of the respect he earned within the group through his performances, attitude, and commitment to the club.

While we’re naturally disappointed to see him leave, opportunities to step into the National League setup at Level 5 are thoroughly deserved and are a reflection of the hard work and performances he has consistently produced.

Everyone at Bletchley Rugby Club would like to thank Archie for his commitment, effort, and contribution during his time at The Manor and wish him nothing but success in this next chapter.
