Next Tuesday evening we feature Big Gilson in concert. Music from 8:00pm

Brazilian blues guitarist from Rio, Big Gilson, returns to the UK on his Back2Blues tour with his UK Blues Dynamite band featuring ex Sassafras and Mick Clarke Band drummer Chris Sharley and Larry Miller's sidemen, bassist Derek White and keys man Ian Salisbury who have also played with Whitesnake's Bernie Marsden amongst many others.

Big Gilson is a masterful guitarist and one of the best electric slide players around. He's opened for Steve Winwood, B.B. King, Buddy Guy and Robert Cray. Big Gilson has also toured the blues clubs in the US, getting great acclaim from blues royalty such as Corey Harries, Duke Robillard, Lonnie Brooks, Magic Slim and Buddy Guy, who extended Big Gilson an open invitation to play his Chicago Legends Club anytime.

This is what B.B. King said after Big Gilson opened for him in Brazil;
“...When I see such a young man so far from America, playing the blues so well, I feel happy and proud that my mission in this life is done”

"From the first note, it's clear that this is a guitar album. A great record -- well produced, exceptionally arranged, and fun." BLUES REVUE magazine - USA

“Each song evinces the high-octane Gilson sound while simultaneously having it's own unique flavour.”
BLUES IN BRITAIN magazine:

There's no doubt you'll be in for a musical treat with an evening of great blues tunes, well crafted original songs and inspired covers from Big Gilson & Blues Dynamite.

This Tuesday night, 6th October we welcome back American singer, guitar player and songwriter Debbie Bond. She has been performing for decades in the Alabama backwoods and is now a regular on the Southern US and European club and festival circuit. She has worked over the past 47 years performing, educating, promoting and archiving the rich blues heritage of Alabama in the US and Europe.

Influenced by raw juke joint blues and the famed sounds of Muscle Shoals, Debbie's impressive story includes years of performing with traditional Alabama blues musicians, like Johnny Shines, Eddie Kirkland, Willie King, Shar Baby, Little Jimmy Reed and more. Immersion in Alabama roots music has deeply flavored her guitar playing, soulful voice and original song writing, giving her a contemporary and original sound, with soul, blues, and jazz influences.

Debbie's collaboration with British born keyboard/harmonica player “Radiator” Rick has added a swampy New Orleans edge to her sound

Doors: 7:00pm
