Can you spare ten minutes
Club statement regarding future development of the club.
On Monday 16th March between 3pm and 7pm, there will be a public consultation at the club regarding the proposed development around Hunters Farm Shop at the bottom of the A5 (Levante Gate).
It’s really important that as many club members as possible attend and complete the consultation form on the day. It takes a few minutes to do.
If the development goes ahead, we want to ensure that it contributes financially towards improving facilities at Manor Fields.
The developers are providing their own pitches/green areas as part of the build, which means they won’t open up funds that contribute towards our playing fields - however there is a real opportunity for them to support improvements to our clubhouses and wider facilities, e.g bottom changing rooms etc.
By attending and completing the consultation form stating that any development should contribute to “Manor Fields facilities”, you will be helping to open the door to a significant investment from the council that will benefit the club and our members for years to come.
If you’re able to pop down at any point between 3pm and 7pm, even briefly and fill out the form, it would make a huge difference.
There will be other applications (& therefore consultation) in the future for; Phase 2 of Eaton Leys, Bow Brickhill, Woburn Sands, etc, that someone should keep an eye on and mobilise members to attend and ask (for Manor Fields contributions).
If done right, that would be a route to really sourcing some fairly substantial S106 funding. The developers have to record the public view, the Council have the ammunition to ask for investment from the developers.
Many thanks if you around and can get down to help the future of our club 🍀🍀
