As per my previous post.
🚧 Abingdon Michaelmas Fair 2026: Road Closures & Restrictions, all in one handy map….. 🚧
The fair runs mainly on Monday 5th and Tuesday 6th October, noon to 11pm both days, but kicks odd today.
But road restrictions are in place from TODAY Sunday 4th to Wednesday 7th October (so please take note especially if you live on one of the roads)
The map is from a previous year, but the main closures and diversion routes are the same.
🚫 Road Closures (highlighted in red on the map):
➡️ Market Place (north side of County Hall), High Street and The Square
➡️ West St Helen Street, from High Street to Lombard Street (new this year, not on the map)
➡️ Ock Street and Stratton Way: closed midday to midnight daily, with vehicle access allowed between midnight and midday
🚧 Additional Traffic Measures:
➡️ Temporary one-way on Lombard Street (west to east)
➡️ St Helen's Wharf Bridge one-way (east to west)
➡️ No vehicles over 7.5 tonnes entering Abingdon via Abingdon Bridge, the Oxford Road and Wootton Road roundabouts, or Radley Road from Audlett Drive
🚗 Alternative Routes (highlighted in green on the map):
Follow the green routes to get around Abingdon during the fair. These are the best options by car while the closures are in place, if you need to drive
🚫 No Waiting at Any Time (to keep emergency access clear):
👉 Bostock Road: both sides, Conduit Road to Victoria Road
👉 Edward Street: north side, Victoria Road to Spring Road
👉 Victoria Road: west side, from 40m north of Ock Street to Exbourne Road
👉 Spring Road: west side, Marcham Road to Faringdon Road
Full details are in the County Council's order below. There has been no communication from the Town Council published as far as I can tell, so apologies if this is the first you are hearing
