Every year a few of our brewers make the pilgrimage to Yakima Valley in Washington State to hand-pick hops fresh off the harvest.
Yesterday, the fruits of their labour finally landed on our doorstep. A very large, very good-smelling container full of some of the best hops the US has to offer.
These bad boys are heading straight into Status Quo and the rest of the core range, so you’ll be drinking them before you know it.
There’s also a handful of new varieties in there for the brewing team to experiment with in the Innovation Program with and they’re more giddy than a seagull spotting a chip.
Fresh hops. Big beers. Extremely good excuse to crack a beer. 🍻

🚀 Puff Piece – Omnidose NEIPA 7.4% 🚀

Engineered for maximal hop compound concentration using excessive late hopping, massive dry-hop loads and concentrated hop products — or in less scientific terms, we put a stupid amount of hops in it. Motueka and Amarillo go into the whirlpool, before Motueka, Mosaic Hyperboost and Mosaic T90 pile into the dry hop for an almost overpowering tropical fruit punch of lime, mango, passionfruit and citrus. Excessive. That’s the point.

👔 Smart Casual – Omnidose West Coast Pils 6.4% 👔

A mash hop of Saaz, Motueka and Amarillo in the whirlpool, then multiple dry hops of Mosaic, Mosaic Cryo and Galaxy. The result is a West Coast Pils that’s anything but restrained, with layer upon layer of grapefruit, tropical fruit, passionfruit and resinous hop character.

What can’t Mitch Kenny do?
We were lucky enough to brew a beer with Mitch Kenny a few weeks back. It’s light, refreshing and designed to be the perfect beer for after you’ve spent a few hours kicking the footy around.

🍻 2 old favourites and a very special collab 🍻

🔵 Status Duo – Hazy IPA 10.4% 🟠

Remember when we let real-life World Cup results decide the fate of our most requested rebrews? The football gods had excellent taste - Status Duo made it all the way to the final. Same hop profile as Status Quo, but every addition doubled and the malt bill bulked up to double the ABV. Juicy, hazy and enormous, and one of our highest-rated beers ever.

💡 Ideas Guy – Hazy IPA 9.7% 💡

The other World Cup finalist, and one we haven’t brewed in about five years. Idaho 7, Simcoe and Nelson Sauvin create a massive, pillowy hop bomb that hides the 9.7% surprisingly well.

🐦 Beak Freak – Hazy Pale Ale 4.3% 🐦

Brewed with a great friend of the brewery, the “Prince of the Plains” Mitch Kenny - three-time premiership winner with the Penrith Panthers and local legend in Emu Plains. Between footy, Mitch has developed a surprisingly serious bird watching hobby, so naturally we brewed a beer about it. 
Packed with Citra, Sabro and Motueka for heaps of mango, bright citrus and a hint of tropical coconut. 
Available online now, as well as pouring at all our venues from 5pm today (Tasmania from early next week).

🥃 Violet Rumble – Barrel aged Imperial Stout with honeycomb 🍯

The latest edition of our annual collab with Karu Distillery , and a long time coming. Our Imperial Stout spent two-plus years ageing in Karu’s Outcask rum barrels before we blended in fresh, local honeycomb. Molasses, vanilla, toasted oak and warming spice layered over roasted malt, dark chocolate and espresso, with honeycomb bringing a caramel sweetness that ties it all together. Rich, decadent and surprisingly balanced.

🛠️ Do It Yourself – NEIPA 🛠️

Our Father’s Day beer, and possibly the most dad thing we’ve ever done. We’ve printed the full recipe across the can, scaled down to homebrew size, so you can actually brew it together with Dad. Because nothing says Happy Father’s Day like standing over a steaming kettle with the bloke who taught you how to change a tyre.
