Tonight! 10/23 - The Radio Bean presents Told Slant w/ h. pruz & Francie Medosch (of Florry) at The Monkey House. Doors 8:00pm / Show 8:30pm / $12 Adv / $15 Dos / 21+ RIYL - Horse Jumper of Love, Allison Crutchfield, LUCY (Cooper B. Handy) & Florist.

What’s Up is Walworth’s fourth album as Told Slant, the moniker under which, since 2012, they’ve released aching albums of spacious, raw-nerves indie rock. This one is their New York record, a collection of songs about watching your hometown change and feeling the ways it has in turn changed you. It’s a record about commitment to a precarious music life, and all the beauty and indignities that come with it. If the first three Told Slant albums were about self-interrogation and trying to survive as an artist, What’s Up is about what happens once you’ve committed “somewhat maniacally to the project of self expression and subculture in one of the most hostile environments on earth,” as Walworth puts it—and now must contend with all of the people and places and dreams that have died along the way.

Hannah Pruzinsky (they) is a musician and creative based in Queens, NY. Hannah is also a co-editor and creator of the New York City show paper, GUNK.

Francie Medosch (of Florry) will be opening the show!

Tonight! 10/22 - Radio Bean presents Dead Gowns w/ Helenor & Paper Castles at The Monkey House. Doors 7:00pm / Show 7:30pm. $15 Adv / $18 Dos / 21+ RIYL - Angel Olsen, Big Thief, PJ Harvey & Julia Jacklin

As Dead Gowns, Maine songwriter Geneviève Beaudoin navigates between folk-rock, alt-country, and indie with a certain, weather-worn intimacy. On her second album, Vegas, she turns bright lights and dark waters into an exploration of quiet ruptures, blurred memories, and grief, guided by a voice that anchors even as it unfurls.

Helenor is the musical moniker for Brooklyn-based lo-fi synth-folk songwriter and visual artist David DiAngelis. Rooted in DIY, the project oscillates between bedroom recordings and a community of collaboration.

Paper Castles is the songwriting project and band fronted by Jericho, Vermont’s Paddy Reagan, bolstered by bandmates Brennan Mangan, Wren Kitz, and Emily Tompkins.

This Saturday! 10/10 - Clear Channel (Too Free/Downtown Boys) w/ Thrill House (Bottled Up & Model Home) & Jensen Alley at The Monkey House. Doors / Show 9:15pm / $10 / 21+ RIYL - Fun, dancing and a good time!

Clear Channel, a Washington, DC-based duo featuring Awad Bilal (Too Free) and Mary Jane Regalado (Downtown Boys, Gauche) emerge as a force of joy. They are an eclectic mix of artists and activists fusing funky post-punk with humor, bouncy bass lines, and celebratory rhythms. Described as “making party music on the brink of psychic annihilation” by the Washington Post, Clear Channel is distinctly DC and glowing.

Thrill House from Washington, DC is a new band with members of Bottled Up & Model Home.

We have local support from Burlington indie rockers Jensen Alley. Come hang!
