In Minnesota hockey, Tom Reid is one of the most well-known and well-liked hockey legends. That's because he has been active in the State of Hockey for over five decades, as a player, a business owner and volunteer in the community. He played nine seasons with the Minnesota North Stars (1969-1978) and two seasons with the Chicago Blackhawks (1967-1969). After his playing career, Tom spent 20 years
as color analyst for the Minnesota North Stars, Gopher hockey, NCAA and the Minnesota high school hockey tournament. He has been with the Minnesota Wild broadcast team since their inaugural season in 2000 and Tom Reidโs Hockey City Pub opened just prior to the Wildโs first season. The name Tom Reid comes up in hockey trivia all the time โ as the only player to score on a penalty shot on Hall of Fame goaltender Ken Dryden of the Montreal Canadiens October 14, 1971. Tom was coming out of the penalty box on a clearing attempt by his team mates found him alone at center ice. โ The rest is history!
