Consul General Elmer G Cato: "Kababayan who may need food, clothing, and other basic necessities are kindly requested to call our Assistance to Nationals hotline at 0917-239-4118 for assistance. Other kababayan who would also want to extend assistance to displaced kababayan can also get in touch with the Philippine Consulate General in New York through the same number. Magtulungan po tayo."
Among those who responded to our call for Bayanihan to assist kababayan in New York who were affected by flooding triggered by remnants of Hurricane Ida were the following Filipino Community organizations: the United Mindoro International Inc., the United Federation of Filipino Educators, Inc., the Philippine-American Community of the East Coast, Inc., the Tanglaw Foundation, Inc., the Filipino Social Club of New York, and the Ilocano Association, Inc. We are thankful to these selfless kababayan of ours. Just a few minutes ago, leaders from the said organizations came to deliver diapers, wipes, milk bottles and other baby supplies to replace those that an expectant Filipina mother lost during the floods. Kababayan affected by the flooding who may be in need of assistance should not hesitate to reach out to us at the Philippine Consulate General in New York. We are here to help.
