They say every relationship hits a turning point around year seven. The so-called “seven year itch.” A moment where you either recommit, reinvent, or recognize that something meaningful has simply run its course. And what is a business if not a relationship? Maybe the most rewarding or high-stakes relationship you have.

As Cork and Board approaches its seventh anniversary, Adam and I have found ourselves doing a lot of reflecting. There’s a reason people talk about the “7 year itch”. It’s a point where you pause and evaluate what a relationship has been, what it’s given you, and whether it’s time to begin a new chapter. We opened Cork and Board as fiancés, got married just a month before COVID, rebranded as newlyweds, and in the past four years welcomed three beautiful babies into our family. We have had this business our entire married life. It was our first baby together, and we’re incredibly proud of what it became. Cork and Board gave us a place to build community, celebrate milestones, and create memories we’ll carry forever. We’ve come to realize that this chapter feels complete in the very best way. We are looking forward to our next, full of time with family and friends.

With that in mind, we’ve made the bittersweet decision to close Cork and Board at the end of June. Our last day open will be Saturday, June 27th. Between now and then, we hope you’ll come in, use your gift cards, say hello, play games with us, and help us celebrate. We are so grateful for every person who has supported us along the way, and we want to spend these final weeks soaking it all in with you. Let's party people!
