Vines on Broadway.
Today is the day that we turn over the key to just a building. An empty shell of what once was. Today was the official ending to the exact meaning of "quirkiness" and "eclectic". There will never, I mean NEVER, be a place quite like Vines. There will be people who will try to copy the coolness, try to reinvent the atmosphere, but it will never come close.
Lorie Anne was Vines. She had a vision, living and running a business all in one. She could see Vines prospering in this old 3 story house. No one could envision what she saw in this place, so we all just took orders, we trusted her judgement, we rolled our eyes as we painted a ceiling turquoise and placed flowers about anywhere we could find a hole.
Lorie Anne made the house her home. She made her home, yours. She didn't care where you came from or what you believed in. She wanted to engage and talk about everything under the sun with you. She loved you. She loved her home, she loved her business.
It takes one hell of a woman to take chances like she did. She went for it and didn't question her judgment. She believed this town needed a cute little house on the corner where you can come in every weekend and drink yourself silly with girlfriends or just have a nice evening with your spouse. She knew it all along. Her vision, her dream.
She accomplished it and it was loved by everyone.
Vines will forever be Lorie Anne's Legacy. For everyone that enjoyed it as much as she did, we thank you. We thank you for being apart of her dream. Thank you for enjoying wine as much as she did. Thank you for being the reason she did what she did. She loved every one of her customers and became great friends with most of you.
Today is the day that Vines on Broadway becomes apart of everyone's home. Create your own atmosphere, a kind of vibe that only Lorie Anne will approve. Anything goes! Mismatch dishware, quirky paintings and Van Morrison playing in the background. Be your authentic self, as Lorie Anne always wanted you to be!
You make your happiness. It takes a regular house, with windows doors and walls but only a creative soul can make it into something that everyone wants to be apart of, Vines on Broadway is the best example of that. Vines will live on in each and every one of us.
