Almost five years ago we set out on a mission. A mission to do more than just open a bar. Our mission was to create a “Spot” where people could come and hang out without having to worry about fitting in or having to know someone to feel welcome and enjoy themselves. A place where you didn't have to look over your shoulder or worry about your safety. A place where you didn't have to pay extra to enjoy and support local musicians and artists. Almost five years ago, The Spot was born, and we can proudly say that we have accomplished exactly what we set out to do. So it is with a heavy heart that we must inform you that on November 30th The Spot will be closing it's doors for good.
To summarize the last five years into a Facebook post would be next to impossible. We have seen some amazing talent come through these doors and grace our stage. We have had it all. From Bluegrass to Heavy Metal and everything in between. How many times have you walked through those doors to see your favorite local band tearing up the corner stage? Whether it be 4 Skeevy Dudes, Fail Inc, 2 Buck Drunk, The Cherry Pistols, Don’t Mind Dying, 5 Turn Knot or many other great bands, The Spot always had some kind of free live music for Central Missouri.
Many of our loyal customers and friends have found their second home inside our walls, and it is you that we will miss the most. We thank you for your continued patronage over the years. The Spot became know as the place in Jefferson City where you could always find a friend, even if you did not know anyone when you first walked through the doors.
Last but not least, how could we ever begin to thank all of our great staff, past and present. Our team here at The Spot is hands down the most amazing team I have ever had the honor to be a part of. You truly are the embodiment of what was set forth in motion five years ago. We are more than just coworkers.....we are family....that will never change!
Our final weekend is scheduled for the last weekend of November, and the line-up is just what you have come to expect to see on The Spot stage. Wednesday before Thanksgiving...SoulRoot, Friday after Thanksgiving...Five Turn Knot, and our final day will be Saturday November 30th...with Fail Inc, 4 Skeevy Dudes and Joe Buck!!!
So make your plans now and let us make some final “Spot Memories” together.
