Not all history is written, some of it is restored by hand.⁠
From 2003 to 2006, The Ashton Depot underwent a three-year transformation from the original Santa Fe Depot into the venue it is today. But in August of 2005, when Hurricane Katrina halted construction, nearly the entire crew left.⁠

All except two.⁠

A father and son, known as the Pedro Brothers, stayed behind and meticulously hand-scraped the original tin ceiling, preserving a piece of history that still defines this space.⁠
