Tonight at 9:30pm! Gather 'round the campfire as a mysterious narrator guides you through "Frightening Tales to Share at Night!", a long form improv comedy show that warps your cherished childhood memories into spine-tingling tales of terror.

Inspired by classic ‘90s and 2000s kid-horror shows like "Goosebumps" and "Are You Afraid of the Dark?", this fully improvised show takes audience suggestions and turns them into hilariously haunted stories—complete with ridiculous creatures, melodramatic twists, and sometimes purposeful bad acting.

It’s like Are You Afraid of the Dark? if the cast forgot their lines… because they never had any to begin with.

Funny, fast, and just the right amount of creepy—this show is perfect for anyone who grew up loving (or hiding from) the weird kids’ horror of the ‘90s and early 2000s.

This is your chance to help set an entire season in motion, and give yourself a show to share with your friends. The winning pilot becomes an ongoing improvised television series, with a new episode created live onstage each month. The series might be a comedy, drama, horror, romance, absurdism, or some glorious collision of genres.

Come see the pilots. Choose the series. Then come back every month to see what happens next.

10pm block:

NOT VIVEK SRIKANTHAN (Toronto, ON)

Vivek Srikanthan is dead.

After attempting to do solo metafictional sketch ‘comedy’ for years, he was taken out back by the Ghosts of Comedy Past, Present, and Future, and given a drug concoction of strychnine, zyklon b, and ‘Reels’. He was then cut limb from limb, and separated across the globe so that nobody could ever stumble upon a man who once tried to do ‘art’ in Comedy. But thanks to the laws of reincarnation (thanks Buddha!), his body has reformed itself here, in this very festival, and they have learned much on their travels. Things such as ‘detective hat’, ‘game of the scene’, and perhaps most importantly, ‘how to get on a JFL showcase’. There is no longer Vivek, but only the grand and glorious thing known as ‘character comedy’.

Vivek Srikanthan is also a Toronto based sketch comedian, best known for his idiotic, self-reflexive, and self-deprecating style of solo sketch comedy. He has previously performed sketch festivals across North America including Denver, Toronto, Montreal, Newfoundland, San Francisco, Washington DC, and Philly Sketchfests. He has performed in Vancouver and Toronto Fringe Festivals, and is a co-winner of the ‘Dumbest of the Fest’ award at Denver Sketchfest 2025, as part of ‘Andy Assaf and Vivek Srikanthan’

CAST: Vivek Srikanthan

BIG OL’ MESS (Denver, CO)
Big Ol’ Mess is a sketch comedy group from Denver, CO. They have performed in shows and festivals across North America, with appearances in New York, Toronto, Philadelphia, Austin, Montreal, Newfoundland, Portland, Dallas, and Washington D.C. They are also the winners of the $10,000 Grand Prize winner of the 2025 Cam Wyllie Sketch Comedy Invitational. Big Ol’ Mess shows have a loose, improvised feel that will leave you saying “that was so dumb, I loved it”. Come see the dum-best live show in the world!

Oh and they’re the producers of this fest!

JORDAN MOELLER: WHISPERS ON THE ADRIATIC (Los Angeles, CA)

Whispers on the Adriatic is the story of Giovanni DeMontessori, ascendant 14th-century Venetian shipwright, as he sails south atop the cool waters of the Adriatic Sea on a secret, deadly, and wet quest for utter glory. Guided by the stars and charged by the Doge of Venice to deliver a mysterious package to the Governor of Crete, will Giovanni overcome the pirates, monsters, and strange temptations that plague him on his journey? Or will he become lost, forever adrift in the blue and boundless waves of the Adriatic?

Equal parts medieval epic and meta-theatrical breakdown, WotA is a rollicking deconstruction of a live first-person historical documentary. Combining elements of sketch, physical theater, clown, and rapid-fire character comedy, a single performer brings an entire ocean of eccentric characters and lo-fi sound effects to life.

Directed by seasoned sketch comedian Connor Bowen and based on the unreleased narrative historical fiction comedy podcast of the same name, Whispers is a new project by comedian Jordan Moeller.

AVERY & SABRINA ARE DEAD (Dallas, TX)
Just in time for the end of the world, Avery & Sabrina have crafted a show built upon the two, foundational pillars of sketch comedy: existential dread and quantum mechanics. A spiritual successor to their award-winning debut “Avery & Sabrina are Doing a Sketch Show”, “Avery & Sabrina are Dead!” is a brand new sketch show featuring Avery Baker, Sabrina Lichtenstein, and their very special guest, Daniel R. States. Each progressively absurd sketch is narratively tied together by their overarching question: wait – are we dead? Inspired by classic works such as “Waiting for Godot”, “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead”, and “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City”, “Avery & Sabrina are Dead” delivers fast-paced humor alongside the stark realization that essence may in fact precede existence….or whatever that guy said.

CAST: Sabrina Lichtenstein, Avery Baker, Dan States

SIMPLE TOWN (New York, NY)
Simple Town brings an hour of their best material to Denver for one night only! This New York-based sketch group sold out their run at the 2025 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, which The Guardian called “smart, fresh and funny enough to revitalize the form.” Their videos have appeared on Adult Swim, Comedy Central and Cracked, and their live show has toured the US and UK. Blending tight written premises with sharp ensemble riffing, Simple Town delivers sketch comedy that’s highbrow, absurd, and deeply silly.
