eTown, the internationally syndicated radio broadcast, podcast, and multimedia- and events-production nonprofit, launched on Earth Day 1991 in Boulder, Colorado. Since then, eTown has produced musical, social, and environmental programming all focused on its ongoing global mission—to educate, entertain, and inspire a diverse audience through music and conversation in order to create a socially res

ponsible and environmentally sustainable world. Prior to the pandemic, eTown recorded shows in front of a live audience in eTown Hall, a 17,000 square foot former church in downtown Boulder which has been renovated and transformed into a solar-powered performance and recording facility—likely the only zero-carbon facility of its kind in North America. On April 22, 2021, eTown will host its 30th b’Earthday Celebration live stream which includes an induction into Colorado Music Hall of Fame. eTown is aired on over 300 radio stations nationwide, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Podbean, Vimeo, on Facebook and Twitter , on Instagram , on YouTube, as well as at www.etown.org.

In one month, Create Boulder Nights returns to eTown Hall.

This fall's program brings together three outstanding Boulder arts organizations on October 3.

At Create Boulder Nights:

Boulder Ballet shares excerpts from [In]Human, a contemporary work exploring connection and what it means to be human through dance.

Boulder Symphony & Music Academy will feature a string ensemble led by Artistic Director and Conductor Devin Patrick Hughes, performing music by the Beatles, Coldplay, Massenet and Max Richter and a collaborative performance featuring Philip Glass’s String Quartet No. 3, Mishima.

Colorado MahlerFest offers a unique chamber arrangement of Gustav Mahler's Songs of a Wayfarer, performed by Grammy-winning violist Lauren Spaulding and Artistic Director Kenneth Woods.

If you've been curious about Boulder’s performing arts community, this is one of the best ways to experience it in a single night.

Tomorrow night, the great Darrell Scott at eTown Hall.

A masterful songwriter with deep roots in folk, country, bluegrass and Americana, Darrell has written songs recorded by artists ranging from Faith Hill and Tim McGraw to Sam Bush and Tim O’Brien.

This October, he’ll be inducted into the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame, a fitting honor for one of the most respected voices in American roots music.

This show is almost sold out:

This week, we're hitting the road and reaching into the eTown archives for a sold-out 2023 night at Denver's Mission Ballroom with Charley Crockett and Greyhounds.

Charley Crockett has lived a life that makes for a great country song. He spent years on the move, busking on street corners and subway platforms from New Orleans and New York to Paris, picking up music and stories along the way that he has turned into one of the most compelling songbooks out there.

Along with performing on this episode, Charley talks with eTown host Nick Forster about that winding road and how it eventually led him back home to Texas. At the time, this Mission Ballroom show was the most tickets he'd ever sold for a single night. Since then, he's sold out Red Rocks and earned two Grammy nominations.

Austin trio Greyhounds have a unique sound of their own: Blues, rock and R&B, built on a musical partnership between Anthony Farrell and Andrew Trube that stretches back more than two decades, including their time with JJ Grey & Mofro.

Revisit this eTown episode all week on the radio and podcasts.

Jose Gonzalez, Eliza Gilkyson, Nick, Helen the eTones close this week’s eTown broadcast by weaving the 1960s anthem “Get Together” into José’s “Leaf Off / The Cave.”

One asks us to choose love over fear. The other urges us to “let the light lead you out.”

Together, they remind us that music can help us find the light and share it with others.
