For one night only, Ryu Fujii of CRAFTROOM ( #58 Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2025) and Keisuke Goto of Bar K-9 come together at Manhattan, bringing two distinct expressions of Japanese bar culture — one shaped by seasonality and innovation of classics, the other by Japanese flavors and the celebration of canine companionship, offering a glimpse into the breadth and character of Japan’s contemporary cocktail scene.

The month also saw Manhattan recognised as one of Tatler Best Singapore 2026’s Best 20 Bars, alongside being named a 2026 Spirited Awards®️ Regional Top 10 Honoree for Best International Cocktail Bar — Asia Pacific, presented by — a reminder that the best moments are always the ones gathered together.

A nod to An Autumn Afternoon, Ozu’s final film, screened at the inaugural New York Film Festival in 1963.

Named after Yasujirō Ozu’s “tatami shot” — grounded, steady, and exacting — the cocktail is built the same way: whisky, mushroom oleo, citrus, spice and umami, in precise, deliberate balance.
