📚 WEDNESDAY | MEET THE AUTHOR | 7–8PM
We’re hosting the reading section of Meet the Author, a free event organised by our lovely upstairs neighbours, The Loft Gallery at The Orange Tree.

Local authors, readings, conversations and a chance to discover some brilliant local talent.

Free to attend — just grab a drink, find a seat and enjoy.

Then things get considerably less literary…

🌮 FRIDAY | TACO LOOK AT ME NOW
They’re back and frankly, resistance is pointless. Tacos. Loaded fillings and the inevitable “I’ll just have one more…”

Come hungry. Leave needing elasticated trousers.

🍕 SATURDAY | +39 PIZZA ON THE ROAD
Saturday night and the pizza legends are back. Proper Italian pizza, glorious crusts and that familiar moment when you say “shall we share one?” before immediately realising what a ridiculous idea that was.

Your pizza. Your rules. Get your own. 😂🍕

So there you have it…

🐾DOGS OF THE WEEK: Tinkerbell & Waffle

This week we have the gorgeous duo Tinkerbell & Waffle who are very much a package deal.

TINKERBELL:
Job Title: Head of Mischief & Bin Investigations

This sweet fairy princess is a professional bin-raider, ankle shadow and can detect a food packet being opened from several rooms away. Very cuddly and affectionate with a slightly feral streak. The words "Tinkerbell what are you DOING" regularly shouted throughout the house. She has a very special talent of getting away with absolutely everything by looking so adorable.

WAFFLE:
Job Title: Head of Cuddles & Human Resources

Smaller than your average house cat, she is indeed Waffle the Wonder Dog. Her preferred sleeping quarters is the washing basket (obviously with clean clothes). She is the tiny dog with the most enormous capacity for love and cuddles. A people lover and so cute that people threaten to take her home (I tried but Mummy wasn't having it!). Her special talent is finding a lap within three seconds of entering a room.

FOOD TRUCK UPDATE FOR TONIGHT

We've had a little last minute plot twist.............😬

Unfortunately, tonight's food truck has had to cancel due to illness. We're really sorry to the food truck team and hope they are feeling better soon. 💛

It's a bit short notice for us to magically pull another food truck out of a hat (we have tried) BUT.......The Orange Tree is still very much open tonight and you are more than welcome to bring your own takeaway along with you or get it delivered.

We have the fantastic Shapla Ferring in the village and also for the best kebabs ever.

So don't let this put you off. Food truck may have cancelled but FRIDAY NIGHT is certainly NOT CANCELLED!

⭐ DOG OF THE MONTH — BENNY

August has spoken… loudly.

Benny didn’t just win — he swept the boards, charmed Ferring and walked off with the crown like he’d been practising in the mirror all month.

He’s handsome, he’s gentle, he’s a full‑time good boy… and now he’s officially our Dog of the Month for August.

Look at him — that crown was made for his wee face.

A huge thank you to every single person who liked, voted, shared and cheered.
You make this fabulous tradition one of the best parts of running The Orange Tree.
