🐾 DOG OF THE WEEK — HAMISH🐾

Say hello to Hamish, our Scottish guest star and proud representative of my homeland this week — especially after Scotland finally won their first World Cup match since 1990. If that’s not a reason to celebrate, I don’t know what is.

Hamish belongs to my Auntie Margaret and Uncle Dave, and even though he’s never been down to Ferring, he was determined to get himself on our Wall of Dogs. Ambition runs deep in this wee 'dug'.

He’s 10, loves carrots and oranges, hates motorbikes, and has a whole routine at home:

– sits in front of you when it’s dinner time
– sits at the lounge door when it’s bedtime
– gives you a paw in the morning when it’s time to get up

He also enjoys playing commando in the garden — don’t ask, just picture it — and he is genuinely the sweetest wee Westie you’ll ever meet.

Hamish, welcome to the Wall. Scotland is proud. We’re proud and you are a wee legend.

LOCAL LEGENDS — KT FERRING FIT

This week’s Local Legend is Katie, whose fitness classes at Ferring Village Hall are helping people stay active, healthy and connected.

Katie runs a variety of classes, including seated exercise, making fitness accessible to people of all ages and abilities. Her friendly, encouraging approach has created a wonderful community, with many class members regularly joining us at The OT afterwards for coffee, a chat and sometimes an evening out together - proving that all those fitness classes are excellent preparation for dancing the night away and lifting the occasional cocktail 🍸

If you have been thinking about becoming more active and meeting new people - Katie's classes could be exactly what you are looking for.

Thank you Katie for helping keep Ferring healthy, connected and smiling. We love you and your incredible positivity Katie. 💛

DOG OF THE WEEK — WILMA

Say hello to Wilma, our wonderfully wonky Dog of the Week — a Greek rescue girl brought to the UK through CARAT, and quite possibly the most uniquely assembled pup we’ve ever met.

Wilma looks like a kid put her together from a bag of spare parts — ears from one dog, feet from another, a long tail, a long body, and legs that definitely belong to someone shorter. And somehow… it all works. She’s perfect and we love her.

She’s around three years old, loves nothing more than sprinting along the beach, keeping Mum and Dad company in The OT, always up for a wee treat and absolutely does not love flying insects (fair enough, Wilma).

A total sweetheart, a proper character, and now proudly featured on our Wall of Dogs.
