Kicking off the bank Holiday weekend 🎸 KIT BRADSHAW — LIVE THIS FRIDAY! 🎸

You’ll recognise Kit — he’s a GD regular, and this Friday he’s back from 8pm for another night of live music.

There’ll definitely be a little bit of Elvis in the building… 🕺 but this isn’t an Elvis tribute night.

Expect a proper mix of classics from Elvis Presley, Neil Diamond, Engelbert Humperdinck, Tom Jones and plenty more — the sort of songs you know every word to and inevitably end up singing along with.

Here’s a thought……
We all have almost every song ever recorded sitting in our pockets. Any artist. Any album. Any time we want. Perfectly recorded.

So why do we still leave the house to hear someone play live?

Maybe because live music was never really about the music. It’s about sharing a moment that will never happen in exactly the same way again.

A missed chord.
A joke between songs.
A singer taking a request they weren’t expecting.
A room full of strangers singing the same chorus together.
Ed forgetting the lyrics halve way through with a smile.

Looking around and realising everyone else chose not to stay home too.

You probably can’t remember was on the radio this morning. But you can remember looking at the bar and seeing the staff dancing whilst serving.(Darson)

Perhaps that’s what we’re really looking for when we come out, something imperfect and impromptu. Something spontaneous.

You can hear all these songs anywhere else…

But you can’t hear this performance, in this room, with these people anywhere else.

Anyway with that thought, here is the second halve of the year and I cant wait x

If you have little ones or old ones that are struggling with the heat today please just pop in and sit. The air con is on full blast with the doors closed. You don’t have to buy anything just know there is a cold place to get away and icy tap water on the bar.
