🍮 THETFORD’S GREAT BRITISH BAKE OFF – WEEK 5: OLD SCHOOL DESSERTS! 🍰
We’re back, bakers! 👩🍳👨🍳 And after a little reshuffling of the calendar, we’re delighted to welcome you to Week 5 of Thetford’s Great British Bake Off!
With Week 4’s Bread Week postponed, our bakers have had a little longer to prepare, but don’t worry — Bread Week hasn’t been forgotten! 🥖 It will be added to the end of our competition calendar to ensure every challenge gets its moment in the spotlight.
In the meantime, the bakers are raring to go for tomorrow, and we’re taking a trip down memory lane with a theme guaranteed to stir up some nostalgia…
🎒 OLD SCHOOL DESSERTS! 🍮
Think back to those school dinner days. The clatter of trays, the hustle and bustle of the cafeteria, the long queues, and the all-important question…
“Will there be any warm custard left by the time I get to the front?” 😂
We’re talking classic chocolate concrete, golden cornflake tart, comforting sponge puddings and lashings of pink or yellow custard. The sort of puddings that divided opinion at the dinner table but somehow always had us going back for seconds!
Will our bakers recreate those childhood favourites, elevate them into showstoppers, or put their own modern twist on the classics? We can’t wait to find out!
🤫 Our Week 5 entrants are yet to be announced, so keep your eyes peeled as we get ready to reveal who’s stepping up to the plate this week.
One thing’s for sure — with a theme packed full of nostalgia, we’re expecting plenty of comfort, creativity and some seriously tasty treats.
