Last Thursday Aaron and Trudy had the honour of being invited to Breckland’s 2026 Business Awards as we were finalists in the Local Pub of the Year award. 🙌

Congratulations from everyone at The Eagle to The Railway Tavern, Dereham ,who won the award on the evening 🎉 and to The Nags Head East Harling who was the other Finalist 👏🏻

We were all so chuffed to hear that we had been nominated for the award back in the Summer and couldn’t believe that we had made it through to the final 3!!! We were nominated alongside some other great businesses throughout the Breckland area and for our small village pub to make it that far was truly amazing, it proves our hard work is paying off. 💪🏻
We are coming up to 18 years in the village and we hope to continue being a community based pub, offering somewhere for people to meet friends and make new friends, learn new skills and hobbies, to relax after a hard week, to celebrate your milestones with and to keep offering teenagers in the village first time jobs, for many years to come. 🍻

Last night Hockham Eagle A team competed at home against The Black Arrows from The Black Horse in Thetford and won 8-1

Hockham B team were away to The Railway from Thetford and lost 7-2

Hockham C team were away to The Saxon and lost 9-0
